Authors note: Hey guys I’m back. Seeing that my small fanfiction is getting  lots of reads gave me motivation to  write again after failing  (my supposedly own novel). T.T I just wish my mind to stop overthinking so I can have fun writing.

ITALICS- Chen Yu Zhi’s INNER THOUGHTS.

Twenty-four hours has passed since the encounter of Jiang Yue Lou’s team with Lucas.

Chen Yu Zhi was back in his apartment up and about even though he got beaten up yesterday. There was no time to loose; he had other important mothers to attend to.

Since the case with Lucas was finally over he can now concentrate on finding his little sister.

He walked from the small cabinet in the corner and took his clothes. He neatly folded them one by one before placing them on top of his bed. After compiling all his clothes, he leaned down and pulled out a carry-on luggage from under the bed.

Knock! Knock!

The knock on the door interrupted the doctor’s action. That was probably his landlord checking up on him. Chen Yu Zhi opened the door.

“Doctor Chen.” greeted the girl, who was carrying a basket of fruits.

“Miss Chu? Please come in.” Seeing a familiar face brightened up his mood.

Even though the two of them only knew each other for a short period of time Chen Yu Zhi already considered her as a comrade.

The two of them did go through a life and death situation more than once already.

She put down the basket on top of the table and they both sat down facing each other.

“Are you feeling better?” she asked.

The doctor smiled, “I feel much better, thank you.”

“I should be the one thanking you. You saved my life yesterday.”

“It is my duty Miss Chu.”

“You can call me Chu Ran. Let us not be strangers to each other.”

“Alright, then to return the favor you can also call me Chen Yu Zhi.”

The two came to an agreement to drop the formalities and to call each other as close friends.

“ I heard that-“she stopped, “Never mind.” Chu ran pursed her lips and looked down.

“You wanted to ask me something?” Seeing her anxiousness, it must be an important matter that she could not say casually.

She took a deep breath.
“I- I heard that Mr.Bai was injured."
Chu ran anticipated for the doctor’s reply.

Ah so it was about HIM.

The match between Lucas and Jiang Yue Lou ended without Lucas hurting even just a bit of the police man’s hair. But Chen Yu Zhi’s playful side wanted to play; he wanted to see how she would react.

“Yes, he was. He got injured while saving me.” He lied.

Chu Ran’s eyes widened and leaned forward towards the doctor.

“Is it serious? How is he?”

“Calm down, he’s alright. It was only a minor injury.”

Chu Ran released a breath she has been holding in.

“Oh then that’s good.”

Silence.

“Do you…like Mr. Bai?”

The girl’s face turned red upon hearing Chen Yu Zhi’s personal question.

“N-n-no! I-It’s not like that. I was just concerned for him as a friend.” She waved her hand to deny the accusation.

The fox of a doctor wanted to laugh but covered it with a cough.

“Alright, alright, I understand.”

“By the way, here is my dormitory contact number. If you ever need my help, don’t hesitate to call me.”

Chen Yu Zhi received the piece of paper.

“Sure. Thank you Miss- I mean Chu Ran.”

“Then I will leave now. Take a good rest, I will see you around.”

The ever so gentleman Chen Yu Zhi walked her towards the door.

“Chu Ran.”

“Yes?”

“Be careful. Do not get too close to Mr. Bai okay?”

She was confused. “Huh? But you told me before that he is not a bad person.”

“Yes he’s not, but danger is all around him. It’s better to keep a safe distance.”

She nodded in response before walking away.

Not long after she left, there was another knock on the door.

‘Ah! That must be his landlord.’ Chen Yu Zhi thought.'

Upon opening the door he was met with a man in a light brown suit.

“You?”

The figure standing outside entered as if it was his apartment. The doctor was not pleased with this person’s manner.

He crossed his arms over his chest and asked, “Why are you here.”

The apartment “owner” Jiang Yue Lou looked all over the room. His eyes stopped on the fruits and 2 cups on the table.

“Someone was here with you?”

With his question ignored, Chen Yu Zhi gritted his teeth.

“Ms.Cheng came by.” He responded.

“You two seem pretty close.”

‘What’s it to you.’

It was too early to get all worked up so the doctor just kept his mouth shut and ignored the other party’s comment.

‘Calm down. He will leave soon, just bear with it for a little while.’

Jiang Yue Lou stepped closer. “Where are you going?”

“I’m going to live in the clinic. It’s convenient for me to both look for my sister and work.”

“How about, I ask some of my friends in the Hong Kong police Bureau to help you find her. But first you have to go back to Jing City with me.”

Chen Yu Zhi sighed, turned around to face the policeman.

“I won’t bother you anymore. I have done my part in helping you. No need to trouble yourself with my problem.”

“Chen Yu Zhi! You are a stranger in Hong Kong. Looking for your sister would be like looking for a needle in a sea.”

He knew that it would be difficult but he cannot give up. Going back to Jing City would be useless since nobody is waiting for him there. His sister is still out here in Hong Kong, probably crying for help.

“I’m not going.” He said in a calm voice.

Jiang Yue Lou grabbed the doctor’s arm.

“Let’s go back to Jing City.” He pressed on not wanting to give up.

‘!! You dare stop me?! I’m not yours to control.’

Chen Yu Zhi was at the end of his wits. His eyes furrowed and with force he pulled away the hand that grabbed on his sleeve.

“Jiang Yue Lou. I’m not part of your police bureau. You have no right to interfere with my actions.”

As soon as he turned around he felt a sudden pain on the back of his neck then he blacked out.

Authors note 2nd part: Looking at this scene from a different angle. Doesn’t it seem like Dr.Chen was a runaway wife after an argument and Jiang Yue Lou is the husband trying to bring him back home.
