(book Hiccup's POV)
I took a big breath in, ah, the air is nice and cool in the morning.
Me, Toothless, and Windwalker were out on a early morning flight to get away from the responsibilities down on Tomorrow. I've been king-Ugh, I still won't ever be used to that-for almost a year now. The whole archipelago is in celebration of the end of the red rage and the start of peace among men and dragons. Of course, the odd dispute breaks out but that's normal.
I on the other hand felt I haven't changed much. Of course I've gotten taller and grew up more but I still don't feel much different.
Camicazi has been training to become a better swordswoman, her end goal to beat me at a duel(she has yet to come close). But also as the first warrior of the dragon mark, she has named herself captain. Not that I am against her being the captain, honestly I'd prefer if she was. It's just the title has gone to her head.
Fishlegs on the other hand has began learning to be a bard. He's been writing poems and music in the hopes it will catch on. Their not terrible but he's still on the mediocre side(sorry Fishlegs.)
"Master," Windwalker's groggy voice, from the early wake up, broke me from my thoughts. He was speaking in dragonese, the language of the dragons. Some can speak Norse, like the great Sea-Dragonous Giganticous Maximus, but not many. "I don't think we should head this way, that mist doesn't look good for flying through."
As he stops and begins to hover, I look up to see what he's talking about. I see a thick blueish mist going from the ocean all the way up to the ends of the sky. And it reached out across the earth out further than I could see.
"That doesn't look good, we should probably check it out just to make sure it's safe," I say, before adding, "I am the king...I suppose I'm supposed to check everything to make sure my people are safe."
He seemed to contemplate this, before a muffled voice from inside my waist coat spoke up.
"I-I-is a bad idea," said the voice as it's body began to clamber out from its spot. It was a little green dragon named Toothless. The smallest hunting dragon known to Viking history, and the only one to not have any teeth. What luck I had to get him huh? In the end it worked out but the years of mockery I got from having a toothless hunting dragon was scarring. The dragon climbed up onto my shoulders and grabbed onto my face and made me look into the big yellow orbs of his eyes.

"We n-not go in that fog," toothless spoke with more seriousness in his voice than I thought he could muster, "Not a good idea to

"We n-not go in that fog," toothless spoke with more seriousness in his voice than I thought he could muster, "Not a good idea to. A-and if a sea dragon say so, then a sea dragon know so."
I sighed, he had been using this 'I am a sea dragon I know what I'm saying' ploy ever since the Wodensfang(a very old dragon that helped me through my adventures in the last three of my memoirs) said he was one. It was quite annoying but it had gotten me out of a number of bad situations.
But I felt drawn to this fog. And it just doesn't look right, it's headed straight for the archipelago I'm supposed to protect...! I can't just leave it be, what if it is dangerous and I could have done something?
"Oh come now Toothless," I try to convince him, "it's only a little scouting. But you can fly back to Tomorrow if you want to."
Toothless sat there for a moment, contemplating his choices. Before he let go of my face, and scuttled back down into my tunic and curled up in his favorite spot just under my armpit.
"F-f-fine," I heard his muffled stutter, "b-but if it all goes wrong T-T-TOOTHLESS. Want apology."
I chuckled and gave Windwalker a little encouraging, but gentle, jab with my heel to get him going. He swiftly speeds off into the thick mist.

I had no clue what I was getting myself into.

(3 person POV)
And the ones following him didn't know either.
