- I'm not ten years old Bobby, but thanks anyway. - I replied in an amused voice, tucking a few sandwiches wrapped in paper into my already overflowing backpack.
- That is my job. - The young man replied, as amused as I was. - Don't get too drunk.
- I don't drink alcohol. - I said while blinking one eye in the most theatrical way imaginable.
Bobby just rolled his eyes. For it was known that there was bound to be alcohol on tonight's trip. I didn't know yet in what quantities and if we would drink one beer each or if we would drink vodka, which was unusual in these parts. Everything was to turn out soon, as Rayan was to pick me up from the Von Rostov house in just a few moments. I waited impatiently for the boy in the kitchen accompanied by the cook, who began to occupy my time with questions about the trip to the island as soon as I finished eating breakfast. I couldn't tell him too much, because I didn't know myself if there was any plan what we were going to do there. The only thing I knew was that we needed to be well prepared. Kevin lent me his sleeping bag, which of course was at least twice as big for me, but I wasn't complaining. I also took a sweatshirt and a jacket with me in case it got cold. Also socks, underwear, toothbrush, toothpaste and mosquito spray, just in case.
When I heard the horn coming out of some car in front of the house's property I knew Rayan had already come to get me. I immediately grabbed my rather heavy backpack and put it over one shoulder. I said goodbye to Bobby and with a full smile on my face I headed for the main lobby. On my way out I immediately started waving my hand towards the doberman sitting behind the wheel of his car with his sunglasses on his nose. When I came very close to his car I immediately noticed something unusual. Namely, one of seats located at the back of the car, was occupied by someone. I wrinkled my nose a little in a grimace of dissatisfaction, but immediately began to chase away all stupid and unnecessary thoughts, so as not to spoil neither myself nor others the trip.
- Hi Rebecca. - I greeted the cat as soon as I got in the car.
- And with me, who will say hello? - Laughed Rayan, rather frivolously and caressingly.
- Well hello Ry, I haven't forgotten about you after all. - I replied right away, slightly emphasizing the abbreviation of his name "Ry".
- Hi Max! - I was greeted by a cat who seemed a little abashed. - I asked Rayan to pick me up too. I didn't want to strain my aunt and since Rayan was going to go pick you up anyway....
- You made the right decision. - I interrupted a girl. - Nice to see you.
Saying those words I smiled probably a little too artfully, but Rebecca was already starting to get on my nerves and I didn't know how to stop it. First of all, why the hell was she explaining to me about Rayan picking her up? No normal person explains things like that. It sounded like she wanted to say - "You know, I generally feel like getting laid by your guy but I respect the fact that he's taken by you. Fuck, calm down. Rebecca Blanc is just weird and she's acting weird too. I'm overinterpreting this whole thing. Yeah, that's right. They're just good friends, so why wouldn't Rayan pick her up first and then me from under the house?
The Doberman started to drive away from the house and Rebecca took advantage of it to look around carefully. I saw that her eyes were fixed on the house, which was not strange. After all, this mansion could be impressive. An old stone building, which was probably older than many countries in the world, was one of those places, which history enthusiasts would surely get excited about. Then the girl's gaze landed on a sizable garage and right after that on one of Gregory's expensive cars. She looked at it intently with a dose of curiosity, I guess.
- I'd like a car like that too. - Said Rayan, once we had driven between the trees of the orchard.
- I prefer your car. - I said right away. - It's one of a kind.
