'I don't want to be activated with her!' Tristan whined idiotically. Ariarne rolled her eyes. 'Dad? Where are we off to?'
'Making sure Cassius didn't steal any of our information. I already scanned my office but we might as well double check.' He said. We opened draws and searched every compartment, everything was secure. 'It's good it's safe. Though Cassius is still out there with zero information with where he is.' Nathan sighed. 'Let's go have a chat with Cassy at the solitary confinement.' An understanding passed between the Fowls and Ariarne looked at me and Tristan. 'We have not been entirely honest with you. Cassy is my sister.'
I was confused and surprised. Cassy was Ariarne's sister?! Did Ariarne even have a sister?! 'I barely talk about my personal life. And no, she isn't actually working for ESPIONAGE, that was just a plan to get ESPIONAGE tricked. They think she's working for them but no, it was a backup.'
We walked into an underground prison and knocked on Cassy's bars. Cassy walked out and looked horrible. It looked like she'd been punched and kicked. 'Who did this to you?!' Nathan ordered. Cassy shrugged. 'Sister...' Ariarne said coldly. It looked as if they didn't get along with each other. 'Did you tell him?' Cassy asked. 'Yes. You might as well tell him the truth.'
'Tell me what?'
'My name is actually Cadence. Cassy was a fake. I changed my last name to our mothers. My name is Cadence Cassy Blackburn and I'm a mesmerist.' Cadence muttered. I finally saw the similarities. Cadence had similar eyes to Ariarne, only they were darker blue. 'If you work for ESPIONAGE and tell them everything, I will kill the guts out of you.' Ariarne growled. Nathan sighed. 'Now now girls, we need everyone to focus. Cassy, do you know where Cassius is?'
'I might have hacked into their radio system so yes. Now bust me out of here.' Cadence said. We picked the lock and the alarm sounded. 'RUN!!!' Nathan bellowed.
We sprinted through the bushes as we hid. Guards chased after us and it took us a good eight minutes to lose them. We all faced Cadence. She got out her radio. 'Cassius?'
'... Hello?'
And there was Cassius.
'How are you talking into my radar?'
'It must've been connected to yours. I busted out of jail and where are you? I need you to help me get the heck out of here.'
'My cover will be blown if I do! I'll tell you my location so you could SNEAK to me. If you make a sound when your here, I will kill you.'
'Okay but you might as well hurry up!'
'I'm in Melbourne. I don't understand how your radio can reach up to here but I am in the National Gallery of Victoria.'
'Copy that. I'll devise an escape plan. Over and out.'
She turned of the radio and Nathan smiled. 'See how helpful your sister is?' Nathan said hopefully. 'Let's go.' Ariarne said, completely dodging the subject. Tristan really had changed from the last time I saw him. For starters, he seemed more responsible. He followed Ariarne and looked up. 'We could steal the Xeprix plane?'
'Ah- instead of that, I could ask as I am minister.' Nathan said. He revealed himself and acted as if nothing had happened. He went inside and we waited for him. Six minutes later, he gave an ok sign. We crept out and climbed up the stairwell. 'I'll fly the plane.' Cadence claimed. 'No, I will.' Ariarne growled frustratedly. 'I will girls.' Nathan claimed. We sat behind him and I heard a yelp behind me. 'Who was that?'
'Heidi Markham.' Tristan said. 'What?!' The rest of us blurted. Heidi smiled nervously as she walked out. When she saw Cadence, her eyes widened with rage. 'You guys are working for ESPIONAGE!'
'No. First, you weren't meant to come here. Second, MIND YOUR OWN BUSINESS.' Ariarne bellowed. Cadence touched her shoulder. 'Sister... stop.' When Heidi heard the word sister, her eyes widened in fear. She couldn't speak as Ariarne's hand clamped over her mouth. 'Swear you won't tell anyone?' I asked. She tried to nod. I explained everything to her and her eyes widened more and more. 'Blink twice if you understand and swear you won't tell anyone?' She nodded. She sat next to me. Ariarne saw this and her cranky mood doubled. 'Why did you tell that?' She cursed. 'She knows the truth. She might as well be activated.' Cadence said. Heidi still shrugged at Cadence. 'Look. I'm sorry ok? Let's get to business.'
