Nell's P.O.V.

They took me into a very dark and smelly basement. There were no windows only one little source of light. It was a little oil lamp. Ellie wasn't here right now, they took her somewhere else. I was worried. What were they doing to her?

What I didn't know, was that soon my question would be answered.

Suddenly the door opened. I was blinded by the bright light. They threw someone on the floor. It was Ellie. I rushed over to her, but I was moving slow because of my tied hands.

Her eyelids flicked. She tried to open her eyes. "Ellie?" Her facial expression showed that she was a little confused. She was breathing very fast and she gasped for air once in a while. I felt her forehead. She was burning hot. "It's me Nell." I tried to wake her, but it didn't work. Then it all made sense.

They drugged her.

I lifted her onto my lap. I hummed a song for her;

Deep in the meadow,
under the willow
A bed of grass,
a soft green pillow
Lay down your head,
and close your sleepy eyes
And when again they open,
the sun will rise.

So on I sang for her. At first she was turning and tossing a lot, but after a while she calmed down.
She looked so peaceful now. She looked so innocent and young. She didn't deserve this.

The door opened again, and for the second time I was blinded by the strong light. Two people walked in. I tried to make my best if-you-don't-let-us-go-right-now-I'm-gonna-kick-your-ass-look.

One of them was one foot taller than the other. The tall one picked up the oil lamp. Now I could see both of their faces. "Santiago Perez." I said. He was the guy from the taxi. The guy who hurt me and Eric. He started it all.

"Nell," he said with his creepy snake-like voice. "I see you know my name," he started. "And I guess you know my nephew, Oliver" they both smiled at us. I was frightened by how much their smiles were alike. I clung Ellie closer to me. Oliver looked at me. We made eye contact for a split second.

"Well, I assume that you know why you are here." He stated. "What did you give her" I asked through gritted teeth. "Oh, you mean what drugs?" He said as he took a step closer. "Ketamine. That should make it easier for me." Oliver said. He took a couple of quick step closer to me. He leaned down to take Ellie. I tried to move backwards but a stone wall stopped me.
Oliver looked at Santiago. Santiago also walked over to us. He took my arm and yanked me away from Ellie. "NO!" I said as wiggled and tried to kick him. There was no use in it but I kept fighting.

Oliver took Ellie in his arms. He carried her in bridal style. "No." She mumbled. She was not fully unconscious. She tried to kick Oliver but it didn't work. "Stop fighting." Oliver said. "Both of you" Santiago added. I didn't listen to them I kept kicking and fighting.

Oliver walked out of the room and closed the door behind him. Panic overtook me. He let go of my arm and I fell onto the floor. "Now, you better behave or I will have to punish you!" He said as he left the room too.

I crawled into the corner of the dark room. I put my knees up to my chest. I stated crying. I was not only scared, I was horrified. I sat in the dark and scary basement and listed to my echoing sobs.

Ellie's P.O.V.

I felt someone pick me up from Nell's lap. "No." I managed to mumble. I tried to kick but I only hit air.
I was finally able to open my eyes. I still couldn't see clear, but it was progress. Oliver opened a metal door. It lead to more stairs. A basement with a basement?

It was even darker and smellier down here. At the end of the stone steps was another door. He opened that one too. I this room there was a lamp in the ceiling, but it was still dimly lit. In the middle of the room was a torn bed. It had a curvy, old, rusty bedpost. He threw me onto the bed. I hit the bed face first.
I closed my eyes. I was so scared. Nell calming voice sang inside my head:

Here it's safe,
here it's warm
Here the daisies guard you from every harm
Here your dreams are sweet
and tomorrow brings them true
Here is the place where I love you.
