Our whole family is sitting in my father's study absorbing this news, news that I have to marry to continue as the CEO of my company.
And my parents discussing about me as if I'm not there.
"ENOUGH!" I Shouted.
They both looked at me like I caught them doing something dirty.
"See Sulochana, this what I am talking about. He is always grumpy. The whole RG fears him more than me. He shouts at everyone." My father is complaining about me to my mom to which she laughed.
"That's true, Pedamma. The look when he gives someone when he is not pleased with their work is menacing. That look can give chills to anyone. And few can even piss in there pants." Anand said laughing.
"Okay, enough. Stop talking about my son. And start the talking about possible solution of this matter." My babai, Anand's dad said.
"Oh there is nothing to talk. As we all know the solution. So we have to get Arjun married to Adrika." My mom said casually.
"What?!" All shouted except the elders.
"What, what? Adrika is Arjun's bride." My dad said looking at me.
"But Pedanana, what if they don't want. It's not like they love each other. It was decided without their consent." Hrithik, Anand's younger brother said.
All elders first looked at him and then at me.
"Arjun, don't you want marry Adrika?" My mom asked.
"I want to," I said not finishing the sentence.
"But?"
"But, she is just 20. How can she handle this, Amma." I asked sounding concerned, but inside I'm anything but.
"Indeed she is young. But if we wait till she reaches 25 they you will become old na. It's not about the company anymore. If you marry now, you both can enjoy each other before you both are ready for kids. Marrying young is bliss, kanna." My mom.
Kids?
Don't know where she got the idea.
"So?" My dad asked.
"Amma, I never said NO to you in my life. That isn't likely to alter any time soon. I'll marry Adrika if you want me to." Even though my entire body is raging, I murmured calmly.
ADRIKA. All I see when I think about her is that night.
"I'm so happy, Arjun. Our both families waited for this day for so long we can't wait any longer. So your wedding will take place in two weeks!" My mom exclaimed.
What the Fuck!?
"Did she already agreed?" I asked.
"No!" She said.
"Do they know?" I asked.
"No!" She said.
"Then how are you so sure that we are going get married in two weeks."
"Because after three weeks, there are no auspicious days for marriage for atleast two months." My mom said.
"Mom this is too much." I said.
"No you both will be married by next month." She said in a final tone.
"Amma, first inform about this to Vrushali Aunty and Vishwak Uncle." I said.
"Yeah! I informed them that we have something important to discuss and they invited us for lunch at their place. And we have to leave in two hours." My said.
