Arjun

We fought. Again.

I'm desperate to strike up a decent discussion with her. But I can't seem to keep myself in check. She irritates me on a whole other level. It's as if she doesn't want to be disturbed but also wanting to be the centre of my attention. I know she won't ask my mother's consent, but she must at least inform her.

Our family follows very few rules. And they have been followed by everyone. One of these is informing my mother. I'll have to do it if she won't. I don't want my mother to have negative feelings toward her. She is my wife, after all.

My mother would soon begin to expect her to assist her in the kitchen, organise our parties, and attend the events with her. If she stays in our cabin, I'll be the one who faces the scrutiny of my entire family.

In those two weeks, I didn't see her smile once, not even when she pretended to crack a smile. She only talks at the dinner table when asked a question with a one-word answer. She doesn't even linger for a second after washing her hand.

"What are you thinking so deeply, Anna?" Anand asked, sitting across from me in my office. Anand joins the office every day after his college.

I sighed and replied, "Adrika,".

"Oh! I saw her in the college today." He said, I nodded.

"How does she behave at college?" I asked.

"I don't know much because we are in different departments and we don't have common classes. But I've never seen her doing anything there. Most of the days she doesn't even attend college. I came to know that doesn't have any friends in the class and she doesn't really to beside anyone and talk." He said. His voice held few emotions which could be deciphered easily. But I want him to admit it himself and not by my persuasion,

I nodded and said, "I am going to Delhi tonight for a week and after that, I have six meetings in six different countries. So I'll be gone for three weeks. Maybe more or maybe less. You have to take care of everything. Don't neglect even the slightest of the details when it comes to Adrika. I want her to be watched 24/7." I said, typing away the instructions to the security team.

We heard someone knocking.

"Come in," Anand shouted.

Rudramaneni's chief security officer, Bhargav walked in with two other guards. The build of Bhargav is not as scary as what movies portray them to be, he is muscled but not scarily muscled. The other two can enter a competition to see who has the scariest appearance. Bhargav is pro in hand-to-hand combat and the brain behind every security-related thing in our company and for our home. And we are friends for so long.

"What's the matter, Bhagi?" I asked seeing him a little tensed.

"Arjun, there is a little problem. Adrika left the college. And we are unable to track her down." He said.

"What do you mean by left the college and can't track her down? She has her phone with her. And there are our men around her." I asked calmly.

"I think she did not take her phone to college. Because her phone location is showing our estate." He said. "And she left the college without informing anyone. And our men lost her when she boarded a govt bus. She tricked us, Arjun." He said.

"Bhagi, I know she will trick us. That's why I told you to be extra careful with her. That's why she did not take her mobile. I think it will be best to track her brother Aadhira. And check the CCTV of the hospital of Aadhira. Don't run behind her tail, it will not lead us to her." I said thinking about her conversation with her brother this morning.

I anticipated something like this but not this sooner.

"Sir, ma'am just entered the hospital." Bhagi's associate said.

"Okay. Anand call our dear Bava garu," I said. Now I really want to talk to her brother. She really manages her men to dance to her tunes. Even Anand was like that.

"Hello, Aadhi Bava, wait Arjun wants to talk to you," He said and gave me the phone.

We both shared our usual pleasantries.

"Come to the point, Arjun. Please don't ask me to go on a date with your sister. Because I already have other commitments." He said with some desperation in his tone. I know he doesn't like my sister that much but this is of another level of hate. I don't want to discuss this at hand now.

"Where is Adrika now?" I asked.

As soon as I finished asking this I heard, "AAdhii!" from the other side.

"She just came to the hospital." He said.

"Ok. Tell her to not escape from her security." I said and hung up.

"What Annaya? Why are you so calm now?" Anand asked.

"Because I know her. But I thought she will wait for a few and start her antics but I guessed wrong." I said with a blank face.

"We can never assume what goes in her mind, Annaya. It will be difficult to figure out now more than before. She has developed an emotionless facade she did not have before and whatever I say it did not show any kind of emotion. I want to know what she is hiding from me and everyone. And why she did, what she did that day." Anand said. I nodded.

I don't want to talk about her. At present everyone's opinion about her is negative. And I don't want anyone to speak ill about her that too in front of me. If I have to then I will speak with her. I know for a fact that Adrika loves me. And only me. As I love only her. But I am waiting for her to share what happened that day with me. If she wants to she can tell Anand. But I am never going to share anything with them.

I don't understand how can Anand abandon her. Even she is at fault he shouldn't have left her.

And after I return from my meetings I am to have a long chat with her.
