Chapter Four

"So you are saying that you don't want to marry me?" Arjun asked calmly. He stood up from his place and came towards me, the other side of the bed.

I should play my cards wisely now. Or else, I don't know what he will do.

"Arjun, I do want to marry you. But not now. I want to complete my UG first. And by that time I will ready to accept the responsibilities of being your wife  Arjun." I said, moving away from him, maintaing atleast four feet distance between us. So that I won't embarrass myself infront of him.

"Don't say this crap to me. You either say yes or no, that's it. If you say yes, then I will treat you like my wife after we are married and if you say no, then I will do whatever it takes to destroy your life and then I'll marry you. Either way I will marry you. You have a choice, either easy or hard." He said.

How can he be so harsh?

"Why are you talking like this, Arjun? Please I'm not asking for a decade, I only want a year." I said calmly.

"I already told you, I don't want to hear this crap and tell your brother to go on a date with Aishwarya." He said and left my room.

Did he just threaten me?

What should I do now?

I have to think about my parents first. They know that I'll never say no to them. And even now I'll do whatever they say. I'll just leave it on them.

The Arjun I remember is so soft and gentle. But this Arjun is total opposite to that one.

He used to speak to me so gently before now he is anything but gentle.

I will do whatever it takes to destroy your life!

How can someone say those words to their future wife. And no one can destroy what's already broken.

I smiled at my fate.

The only person I love is now threatening me to marry him.

Marrying Arjun has always been my dream. And I'll marry him happily. But now I have to tell the secret, the secret which made me what I'm today.

Date with Aishwarya.

One more reason for me to marry Arjun. She will not leave my brother alone even for a day. After my marriage I'll make sure Aishwarya doesn't get her claws on my brother. Even if I have to face all the Rudramaneni's especially Arjun.

Arjun is double overprotective of his sister. He listens whatever she and his mother says. And I know Aishwarya will be my problem when I enter into Rudramaneni's adobe.

My parents will never agree to my brothers love. Infact no one in my family does. But Aishwarya is not right for my brother. And I'll do whatever it takes to stop both of them from getting married.

I jerked out of my thoughts when I heard a knock my door. I turned towards the door and saw my parents standing there nervously.

I would've laughed if the situation isn't serious.

"Come in Amma, Nana," I said, they went towards the couch and got themselves settled on it.

Any genius can guess why they are here. So without giving them any chance. I spoke first,"Amma, Nana, I know why you are here. And I don't know what to say. So please do whatever you want to. I'll accept you decision. And please don't feel guilty about anything, okay?" I said.

They were silent for few minutes.

They both are looking at me blankly.

My mother rushed towards me and hugged me.

"Adrika thalli, you know right whatever we do is only for you and your brother. But you have to tell us whether you like Arjun or not." She said.

"Before I answer, can I ask you a question?", she nodded, "Would you both accept if Aadhira don't want to marry Aishwarya?" I asked.

Instead of my mother, my father spoke, "No! He is doing whatever he wants now, but when it comes to marriage he has to marry Aishwarya. And even you have to marry Arjun, not because of some deal, but because we know they will treat you like a daughter, and you will have so big family that you will never feel alone as you feel here." He said caressing my cheek lovingly.

"Then why are you asking if I like him or not. If you have already decided about our future." I said.

They both didn't uttered a word.

"I'm okay with whatever you decide, Nana!" I said left them and went to my balcony sitting on my hammock.

"So we are going to say that you said yes to them!" My mom said following me.

"Okay Amma. Can you not call me downstairs untill they leave the estate."  I said relaxing my back on the bed and covering myself with the duvet. She left after saying okay.

After listening to my dad's words, I'm sure they'll never agree to my brother's love.

My dad never wanted my brother to do MBBS. He wanted my brother to fill his role after retires. But my brother never had any intention of taking over the company. He always wanted to help people and became a doctor. My brother convinced my parents to lot him do whatever he wants because he is going marry Aishwarya, Arjun's sister. And when my brother joined MBBS he is not in love with Nishitha, so he said and I quote, "If I marry Aishwarya and Adi marries Arjun then you can handover Korrapati Inc to Arjun. He will takecare of it better than I can."

I don't care about companies and profits. I only want my family to be happy.

"ADRIKA!" Someone yelled.

I looked at the person sitting beside me and tensed.

"Yes Anna!" I said.

"Where are lost my baby? What are you thinking so deeply? I'm calling you from so long." He said making faces.

"Did they leave?" I asked.

"Yeah. Did mom and dad tell you about the marriage thingy?" He asked.

"Yes. And I decided to marry Arjun." I said slightly shaken up.

"I don't want you to marry Arjun!" he exclaimed.

"But--" I was interrupted by him.

"No! You're only 20 years old. You don't even understand the concept of marriage. And I'd appreciate it, if you rejected this marriage. For the time being!" He yelled.

How can I say NO to them? My parents?

How can he expect me to be someone I'm not?

"I'm not going to take any action. And I want this marriage to take place according to our parents' wishes." I stated unequivocally.

"Please Ads! Try to understan-"

"No! You must accept! Do you want me to be miserable for the rest of my life? You have no idea how depressing it is for me to live like this. Maybe if I marry Arjun, I'll be able to be free. Please do not tell anything to Mom and Dad. This is something I truly want to do." I told my brother.
