Chapter Twenty Three

I got ready in a simple pink saree with a long sleeved white blouse and stepped out of the closet. I didn't wear anything extra as I already have my lifelong ornaments; mangalsutra and a small diamond black beads. And thats it other than my engagement ring, I didn't wear any bangles.

I always felt that anyone can rock pink color, provided they wear correct shade. I used like Aadheera in pink shirts. It is such a beautiful color, I don't why people are discriminating colors.

As i stepped out of the closet, I didn't find Arjun in the bedroom, so i just went out and saw him in the living room of the condo, sitting on the couch, he is watching me. Which makes my heart skip a beat.

I know this is madness, but were you ever in love?

While climbing down the stairs I have only one thing in my mind, no matter what happens in our family or anywhere, I just want me and Arjun to be happy all the time. I want Arjun to be with me as he was in the bedroom. And I'm gonna give my 1000% to make sure it stays like that.

I stood in front of him and looked in his as he was looking at me. He stood up the and smoothened his suit jacket and moved little closer to me keeping his one hand on left side of my waist, which is my bare waist. This made me get goose bumps all over my body.

He bent down to my height and kissed me on my cheek for the second time today and squeezed my waist.

"Why are you making it hard for me to get out today, Adrika?" He asked.

I just blinked as I don't know what to answer.

Seeing me blushing and unable to answer I guess he took pity on me, instead of removing his hand, he moved beside me and started walking towards the door. And I just followed suit, without saying anything.

His chief security officer opened the back door of his white Rolls Royce, but instead going and sitting, he held the door for me replacing his CSO. After we both settled in we left for the HQ.

We both were silent for the entirety of the trip. I was just looking out of the window and Arjun was typing away on his laptop. I know he is a busy man and he works really hard. So I will not complain if he is working.

Instead of stopping infront of the entrance, the car went to the basement parking. Yeah, he opened the door for me again! And we took his private elevator to his office.

He showed me around his office, I mean his floor. I already saw the company so many times before except his floor. And Then he introduced me to his executives and went to his office.

Which is I can say, is big! He had a nice seating area and then his table and few other things. One side of the wall has pictures. I went hear them and checked out everyone. Obviously he had big portrait of the whole family. And little small portrait of him with his sister and cousins. Wait a second, there is a picture of me and him too. Whaaatt?

Seriously!!

It's the picture from my Sixteenth Birthday party, before everything went down the drain. I'm really happy after seeing this picture.

So this just confirms that he also likes me but something might have happened.

I asked, "When did you keep this here?"

"When you turned 18!" He replied.

Awww! Cute!

I just said Oh.

Looking at that picture again, I can remember how my life went down. Which really impacted my mood in a negative way. But I didn't show it on my face. As I don't want him to ask me questions.

Then we heard a knock. Instead of replying to the knock, he came towards me and dragged me towards the seating area and made me sit and he sat beside me.

And then he invited whoever knocked. And his PA came. Arjun gestured his PA to sit and to explain about the plans.

When he said its south trip, he literally means it. It starts from Bengaluru, whole of coastal Karnataka, And few days in Kerala, where we are going to stay for few more days at house that Anand wanted to buy and then from Trivandrum to Tamil Nadu, going to the our major factories in Madhurai, Trichur, Chennai. And Then our both families are going to meet us in Chennai and we all together will go and Shri Venkateshwara Dharshanam. And he said we are flexible with dates and we can spend few more extra days if we want in any place.

After that I waited till he completed his work and we then left to his home.

On the way Arjun mentioned his friends are also going to join us for tomorrow's trip.

That's when I remembered, tomorrow I have to deal with Anand, Bharath and all others. And my anxiety kicked and coupled with my negative mood from before. And I went silent till we reached home. I have to speak to Aadheera first.

When we reached home Arjun went to his study informing me to pack my clothes. And I went to our bedroom and called Aadheera. Instead of Aadheera, someone else attended the call and informed me that he is in surgery and will take some time.

I'm feeling slight pain on my shoulder because of the safety pin. So I went to closet and removed the pin and applied cream to reduce the rash from the pin. Then I started taking things out which I might need.

As I was taking out the clothes that I might need, my saree pallu is constantly falling down because it is a chiffon saree.

So instead of dealing with the packing I removed the saree and changed into my shorts, knowing Arjun will go to the main house.

And then I resumed, remembering the number of days we are going, I packed all kinds of dresses including few sarees.

And then I took out what I'm going to wear tomorrow. Which are two sarees. I know, we are going to take a dip in the river near ganugapur, so I chose a dark maroon lightweight cotton saree which will be comfortable for me wear while traveling and also taking a dip.

And for the darshan, I'm confused on what I want to wear something lightweight, instead of thinking too much I called my mom. And she told me to wear a uppada saree preferably in a light color and at last we decided to go with a white colored saree with gold border and a red blouse. And we chose a kundan necklace to go with it.

And I'm all set!

Just then I got a call from Aadheera.

I picked up his call and I moved to the bedroom and settled on the sofa near the floor-to-ceiling window.

I said everything about the trip and all and about tomorrow's issue where I'm going to be with his friends for god knows how long. And Aadheera suggested me to take a pill which he apparently left in my purse, without me knowing about them.

"And promise me Ads, you are not gonna take more than one for whole day!" Aadheera said in a stern voice.

And I replied, "Sure and I will be careful." I said.

And after few minutes of giving out instructions, he cut the call.
