Just a reminder that Talia is Y/n's fake name that she gave Micah as that's the name that will be mentioned in the chapter

The second prince, Micah Vespertine, was always intrigued by the little things in life. The things that most people never paid much attention to. He found solace in the things that caught his attention, such as plants and books, providing an escape from the issues that bothered him in the palace.

He has never been interested in people, apart from a few. He usually avoided people, but when he had no choice to speak to someone, he would either say the wrong things or ramble on about some random topic scaring them away. He wasn't one for socials. That was more reserved for his older and younger brothers.

So when his eyes landed on a girl in the royal gardens, looking at a bunch of flowers, he felt a sudden intrigue appear out of nowhere. Only a few people came to the gardens, but most of the time it was usually him. He didn't recognise who the girl was, further fuelling his intrigue.

Before he even acknowledged what he was doing, he had already approached the girl allowing him to observe the girl with h/c hair and precious e/c eyes that seemed to glisten in the sun. She held an innocent beauty around her, different from all the other noble girls he had met at court.

What surprised him was how easy he was able to talk to her. He never found himself to talk to someone with ease though there were a few stutters, nevertheless, it was very different from how he interacted with others.

The girl whose name he learnt to be Talia had a comforting aura that attracted him. It made him comfortable to carry on conversations and openly voice his thoughts. He liked that. There was only one other person with whom he was able to do that with but they weren't around for that anymore.

He liked her kindness and thoughtfulness and how her voice sounded like it was laced with honey. She was more beautiful than any woman he had ever met before. Even when he rambled on about plants, she didn't give him a weird look and appreciated his interest. Each time he turned his head to look at her, he felt his heartbeat and his stomach roll over in excitement.

When their time together was coming to an end, he had felt a pit of sorrow form inside of him. He didn't want her to go, but he knew that it would be unwise to make her stay any longer than she intended. He wanted to know more about her, about her life, her hobbies and everything in between.

Maybe he was getting ahead of himself, considering that was the first time he had met her, but he knew he couldn't just let her go after one meeting. So that's why he proposed for them to meet another time.

For the rest of the day, all he could think about was Talia. He couldn't focus on the books that he was reading and eating his food was taking him longer than usual. Different scenarios ran through his head of the two of them together. For only meeting someone for such little time, it was a little concerning how quickly he became obsessed. He had never felt like that before and he didn't know how to handle it or what to do but all he knew was that he definitely wanted to see her again.

Was it normal to stay awake the whole night thinking about someone? Micah didn't think so but yet only a small few hours of sleep greeted him during the night.

He eagerly awaited lunch to come around and planned out different conversations in his head. He wanted to be able to impress her and appeal to her, hopefully making her just as interested in him as he was in her.

After wasting the morning glancing at the clock every few seconds, lunch steadily came around. He wasted no time making his way to the gardens where he avidly waited for Talia.
