Laughter resonated in the atmosphere as two young people ran through a vibrant field with the sun gleaming down upon them. A yellow dress patterned with small detailed flowers danced along with the wind as the girl ran across the grass, holding her small hat in place. A young boy was running after her calling out the girl's name and telling her to slow down. Despite his protests, he had a large smile plastered across his face as he watched the girl in front of him. It was a picturesque view of a young couple spending their summer together.
The girl in front let out a light laugh as she tumbled down onto the grass whilst the boy behind her finally caught up after what seemed a while. He too had tumbled onto the grass on top of her. His hands were placed on either side of her head, supporting his body upwards. The girl below him was still laughing and hadn't noticed the proximity of them both.
It wasn't until his hand softly brushed through a few pieces of her hair framing her face that she noticed the small gap between them. Heat flooded to her cheeks as her laughs died out, her heart rate picked up an abnormal rate as the boy longingly stared into her vibrant pools. The girl stared back, finding it hard to open her mouth and say something. It was as though she had been put in a dreamlike trance.
It was the gentle call of her name that broke her out of a dazed state.
She hummed in response to her name as a small smile graced her lips. The boy sat up, allowing her heat rate to resume back to average. She also sat up in front of the boy leaving a small distance that she was able to handle.
"You're probably wondering why I asked you here?" the boy asked and the girl nodded.
The girl had wondered why he had suddenly come to her around lunch and asked her to leave her work to go to the nearby fields.
"I was going to wait for a more appropriate time but I just couldn't wait any longer," he said, his eyes moving away from her face to the grass.
"What is it?" she tilted her to the side as a tone of worry slipped through her voice. The boy seemed nervous about something. She was worried that something bad had possibly happened that he had to see her so soon.
"Ah well, it came just this morning," his hand fiddled in his back pocket as he brought out a small box. The girl looked down at the box in his hand and furrowed her brows. He reached out for one of her hands with his free hand and held it fondly.
"We've been together for a long time now," the girl looked up from their intertwined hands to find his eyes deeply fixated on hers. "And I don't think I've ever cared for someone as much as I have you before. You coming into my life has been a blessing that I thought I have never earned but you are here right in front of me. I love you so much that every second that we are not together my heart aches for you," he opened the box to reveal an intricately detailed ring adorned with a small diamond that gleamed at every corner.
The girl's free hand quickly covered her mouth as a gasp escaped her lips. "Will you marry me Y/n?"
"Yes! Yes! Of course, I'll marry you!" he smiled at her as he swiftly placed the ring on her finger. She threw her arms around his neck as he wrapped his arms around her waist. "Oh! This is so exciting! I can't believe it."
The boy gently separated her from him as his hand went up to her cheeks. "I promise that I'll never leave you, Y/n," he said. "Promise me you won't leave me as well."
"I pro-," the smile on her face quickly disappeared as she noticed that something was wrong. The atmosphere around them had suddenly gone eerie, with harsh winds replacing the still air and dark clouds covering the clear sky. She looked around. The vibrant aura circling them had been sucked away and a gloomy atmosphere had been put in place instead.
