The third prince, Adonis Vespertine, had a way with his words. A skill that he learned from his mother. He always knew what to say to please someone or win an argument, most of the time. This had helped him in many instances and could be argued why his father let him off rather easily when it came to completing his duties or it may have been because his father had simply given up on making the young man act out his princely roles.
Adonis could be quite stubborn and thus it could be hard to talk him into doing things or out of things. He rarely took no for an answer and when he wanted something, he was resolute to acquire whatever it may be that had caught his attention. His most recent ambition is a young girl in the palace that goes by the name Y/n L/n.
Adonis believed he got his stubbornness from his mother, who like him tended to always get what they wanted. That was probably how she earned herself the role of the third wife of King Leonard. Adonis' mother, Lady Carmelia was a commoner before she rose in the ranks. She was tired of her common life and seeked more extravagant one so when the king happened to be in her hometown, she talked her way into his life.
Adonis was unsure as to whether his mother truly loved the king but it was not his place to ask or judge. The king was utterly in love with her, everyone in the palace knew that. Even now he dotes on her more than Lady Katherine, Micah's mother and could be argued that he does even more so than with the late queen.
Adonis felt he was quite close with his mother, even if she went away many times during the years. They would send each other letters that would picture some events that had happened whilst they were apart from each other. Adonis probably had the closest relationship with his mother than his brother's relationships with their mothers.
Even when his mother was away, Adonis had no problem filling his time, especially as a child. Adonis was always the centre of attention when it came to everyone else in the palace. Everyone would dote on the young boy, praising him for his looks and his vibrant personality. His mother had always told him that he should be confident about the way he looked and presented himself as it would benefit him largely in the future.
Regardless of his mother's words, Adonis rather liked the attention he received and made sure that everything about him that attracted others to him was upheld. He believed that if there was nothing valuable to him, then everyone would just leave and he'd be left completely alone. He already felt quite lonely with his mother not being around half of the time and his father and brothers being busy with their own things, he just didn't like the idea of being completely lonely.
However, even when he was surrounded by so many people and gifts, he would sometimes feel as though something was missing. At some point, he thought it was the relationship with his brothers that he was supposed to have that made him feel like that. A lot of the other noble children had good relationships with their siblings.
Micah was rarely seen by other people. Adonis remembered asking to play with Micah almost every day when he was younger. His mother usually rejected his request but when she agreed, he liked being with Micah even if he didn't talk much and was awkward. Though he stopped asking when the number of times he would see Micah became very scarce.
Andrias never seemed keen on getting to know Adonis or Micah and preferred being by himself and preparing to become the next king. Adonis didn't like to admit it but he envied his brothers for the skills and talents that they had. Micah was highly intelligent and knew many things that would be of help to the kingdom whilst Andrias was skilful in politics among other things and favoured to become the next king. Adonis did not have much to offer. The only thing he was praised for was his looks. Although he had his art, what good was art when it came to becoming the next king?
