It’s Friday. Yahaba and Kyoutani both had after-school practice. Once again Kyoutani and Mae waited for their lovers and Yuka.

“Hi, baby~” Mae said, hugging her boyfriend.

“Hey, Mae,” Ryuu said, patting her bangs. “Is it cool if Yuka hangs out with us today?” Ryuu asked. Mae’s face dropped.

“To your house?” Mae asked.

“Yeah, I want to show her my home bass, my stool, and my stand,” Ryuu said. Mae sighed.

“You can’t show her another day when we didn’t plan something. I still want to be there,” Mae sighed.

“It’s fine. You can just text me pictures or show me on FaceTime,” Yuka said. She was trying to be helpful, but Mae was mad-mad to hear that.

“You gave her your number?” Mae hissed. Ryuu gulped.

“It’s just for Orchestra,” Ryuu said in defense.

“Yeah-“ Yuka said, trying to back up Ryuu.

“Shut up,” Mae said getting in her face. Kyoutani put a hand on Mae’s shoulder.

“Step back, young lady,” Kyoutani said, sending a dangerous aura, Mae was already pissed.

“No! He is always talking about her! And she is always blushing like an idiot! Like I’m an idiot. I don’t fucking understand why they just suddenly like each other. She’s a loser and not even pretty,” Mae said with hate behind her voice. She then turned to Ryuu. “You! Do you like her?”

“What-?” Ryuu asked, but Mae was quick to reply.

“You deaf? I asked you: Do. You. Like. Her?” Mae asked, clapping her hands in his face.

“I’m dating you, Mae,” Ryuu said.

“That’s not what I asked. Do you like, Yuka?” Mae asked. Yuka was holding Yahaba’s hand in fear.

“…” Ryuu was silent.

“Well?!” Mae asked, crossing her arms and tapping her foot.

“W-we can talk about this in private,” Ryuu said, trying to grab Mae’s arm, but Mae slapped it away.

“No- you know what? I don’t care. I do not care. I am out. I am leaving. You can have him. You can have her, and I’ll go home by myself, so you can her can go to your house, and do whatever you want,” Mae said, stomping down the hall.

“Dramatic one,” Yahaba said quietly.

“Aren’t you going to go after her?” Kyoutani asked Ryuu. Ryuu shook his head.

“Nah…” he took a deep breath, reframing and calming down. “You still down, Yuka?” Ryuu asked calmly. Yuka pointed down the hall.

“Your girlfrien-“ Ryuu was quick to correct.

“Ex-girlfriend.”

Yuka let out a tired sigh before speaking. “Your ex-girlfriend just yelled at you. You should probably go have an adult conversation about it even if you don’t want to be with her,” Yuka said. Ryuu groaned. “You know I’m right.”

“I know, I know,” Ryuu said. He started to lazy walk down the hall.

“Good luck,” Yuka yelled. Ryuu just gave a lazy peace sign.

“You are so confident when you talk to him,” Yahaba said. Yuka rolled her shoulders.

“Someone needs to tell him everything flat out,” Yuka said.

“I think he likes you,” Kyoutani said. Yuka blushed.

“I-I doubt it-“ Yuka said, but Yahaba interrupted.

“We both know that you know. You’re too smart not to know,” Yahaba said, hitting the nail on the head.

“O-okay, yeah, but as much as I like him, he has to sort out the him-and-Mae problem,” Yuka said. Yahaba nodded.

“You are absolutely right, sweetheart,” Yahaba said. Kyoutani nodded. “Lets get home.”

Yahaba and Kyoutani were in Yahaba’s bed, watching a movie. Yahaba got a call. Kyoutani leaned over. ‘Eiji🖤’

“Why is he calling?’” Kyoutani asked. Yahaba shrugged as he remembered that he should take that heart off Eiji’s caller ID.

“Can I answer?” Yahaba asked. Kyoutani glared.

“Put it on speaker,” Kyoutani said. Yahaba answered the phone and put it on speaker.

“Sup,” Yahaba answered.

“Hey~” Eiji said in his normally deep voice. “You okay?”

“Yes,” Yahaba said as if he was asking a question.

“Okay. I was just worried. You haven’t called me in a while,” Eiji said. Yahaba sighed.

“So, Eiji,” Yahaba started.

“Mhm~” Eiji hummed, making Kyoutani clench his fist.

“I-I have a boyfriend,” Yahaba said, holding Kyoutani’s hand. There was a beat of silence.

“So?” Eiji answered with a chuckle. Kyoutani fought the urge to yell at him. Yahaba scoffed.

“What do you mean?” Yahaba asked.

“So, no fucking?” Eiji said. Kyoutani hit the mute button.

“I’m going to kill him,” Kyoutani said, fuming.

“He’s not used to this, so calm down-“ Yahaba said.

“Haba?” Eiji said. Yahaba unmuted.

“No, no sex, Eiji,” Yahaba said. There was a sigh from the other side.

“Really? You sure?” Eiji asked, sounding much sweeter. “We can keep it a secret, love, if that’s what it takes.” Kyoutani was mad but also jealous of how sweet and loving he sounded even with his scary low voice. “We can do whatever you want, bubs.” Yahaba sighed, confusing Eiji. “You don’t want to?”

“Eiji… listen closely, okay?” Yahaba said. “I am in a committed relationship. I can’t- nor do I feel the need- to be with you at all.”

“How long? We just banged like a week ago. I don’t think you can get committed that quick, baby,” Eiji said. Kyoutani was starting to hate these nicknames more and more.

“That’s none of your business,” Yahaba shot out.

“Okay, but I know that history repeats itself, so we’ll be in the backseat in my car in a few days like always,” Eiji said with annoyance in his voice.  “See you later.” The line went dead.

“I’m sorry,” Yahaba said. “I can’t change him. He’s… just…” Kyoutani rubbed his back.

“I understand,” Kyoutani said.

“I won’t cheat on you,” Yahaba said. Something in Yahaba’s voice was almost like he was convincing himself.

“I believe you,” Kyoutani said. Yahaba started to tear up.

“I-I’m sorry for him. You shouldn’t have to deal with him,” Yahaba said. “I’ll talk to him more about it if you want me to.” Kyoutani immediately shot that down.

“No, no, no, no. I don’t want you going near him,” Kyoutani said.

“I will have to at some point. We’ve been on and off for four years, Ken. I can’t just ghost him without having an actual face-to-face conversation,” Yahaba said. Kyoutani groaned.

“Why? You did that to me,” Kyoutani said. He was right. Yahaba didn’t even look at Kyoutani when they broke up. “Is Eiji different? Is Eiji better?” Yahaba’s tears fell from his eyes.

“You want to fight over Eiji? We can fight over him if you want,” Yahaba said, raising his voice.

“I don’t want to fight, Yahaba. I just want to know why he is different because when we broke up, you literally ghosted me. I couldn’t even dm you. Why can’t you do the same to him?” Kyoutani asked. Yahaba huffed, wiping his face.

“Because he didn’t walk out on me,” Yahaba said, anger in his voice. “I’m also not just going to walk out on him.”

“So? He wants you to cheat on me and talks about having sex with you even though he knows you’re in a relationship,” Kyoutani said, clutching his fist.

“I heard him. I’ve been dealing with this man for 4 years. I knew that that was how he was going to act, but I also know that the only way to get him to listen is to talk to him face to face,” Yahaba said.

“Wow, you guys sound like best friends. Don’t you just know him so well,” Kyoutani said sarcastically. Yahaba groaned.

“Yeah? And your point?” Yahaba asked.

“My point is that it’s much easier to just block him,” Kyoutani said. Yahaba groaned in frustration.

“Listen,” Yahaba said, rearranging his sitting position. “I had an intimate relationship with this man for four years. I cannot just leave him with questions when he hasn’t done anything-“

“He hasn’t done anything!?” Kyoutani yelled. “He- god! He was asking to fuck you even when he learned you were dating someone.”

“You don’t know him!” Yahaba yelled. Kyoutani huffed. “You don’t know how our relationship was. Are you going to listen?”

“What? Are you going to defend him?” Kyoutani asked.

“Just listen… I’ve had other relationships while I was off with Eiji, and it’s always been a week to a month, and then Eiji and I would get back together. So he thinks that you are just another boyfriend or girlfriend that I’ll end up leaving in a week or two. He’s not going to grasp the realness of my words through the phone. He’s not going to change the way he thinks unless I drill it in his head. I know Eiji, so you just need to trust me,” Yahaba finished with a deep breath.

“… fuck.” Kyoutani raked his hands through his hair. “I’m leaving.” Kyoutani got up and grabbed his keys. “I don’t understand why you are defending him, but I can’t listen to you right now.” Kyoutani left Yahaba’s  room.

“Kyoutani!” Yahaba yelled. He could hear Kyoutani go down the stairs.”Kentaro!” Yahaba said getting up, but then he heard the front door open and close. Yahaba sat back down on the bed. “What. The. Hell!” Yahaba groaned. He pondered on what to do.

Sugar🤍: Can we meet at our café tomorrow at 9?

Eiji🖤: Okay

<3<3

Kyoutani woke up in a terrible mood. He still went to the gym and ate his breakfast. On the way home from the gym he saw the new smoothie parlor. Kyoutani loves smoothies. Especially mango. He does the whole ‘would it look weird if I walked in there by myself?’ thought process before walking in.

“How may I help you?” The worker asked with a smile.

“Can I get a medium mango smoothie?” Kyoutani asked. The woman nodded and typed in the order.

“Is that all?” She asked. Kyoutani nodded. “Your total is 2.92.” Kyoutani handed her his card. When she was done, she gave back the card and the receipt. Kyoutani leaned on the wall, looking out of the wall window to the old café that always has customers. Then he sees him. There Yahaba is with a guy. A  6 foot- 2 inches taller than Kyoutani and Yahaba since they are about the same height- black waved hair and blue-eyed male with an amazing body littered with tattoos. They were eating cake and drinking coffee. “Sir,” the woman called with his drink in her hand.

“Thanks,” Kyoutani said, taking the drink and walking to the truck. “What the actual fuck?!” Kyoutani whispered yelled, throwing his drink in the cupholder. “What do I do? Do I walk in? I should right? No, no, no, that will start a fight and I can’t go to jail.” Kyoutani rested his head on the steering wheel. He looked up and saw Yahaba by himself and the guy was walking out, lighting a cigarette. The guy was wearing a black turtle neck, black slacks, and shiny shoes. The guy was clearly loaded. He got into his nice sports car and left. Kyoutani got out and walked inside the café. Yahaba was finishing his cake and his hazelnut coffee. Kyoutani sat down in front of him. Yahaba jumped and looked at him.

“Ken?” Yahaba said. “What are you doing here?” Yahaba asked through a nervous laugh.

“Who was just sitting right here?” Kyoutani barked out. Yahaba’s colors drained from his skin.

“I-I was just c-clearing things up with him,” Yahaba stuttered out.

“Who the fuck was that, Yahaba?” Kyoutani whispered yelled. Then a familiar guy was standing in front of him.

“Why are you talking to him like that?” he growled out.

“Who the fuck are you?” Kyoutani said, reflecting Eiji’s energy.

“Arai Eiji. Nice to meet you,” Eiji said with a wink. “Anyways~ I forgot to get my phone.” Eiji reminded Yahaba with a chuckle.

“Dumbass,” Yahaba said, scooting down and taking a phone out of his front pocket.

“Meanie,” Eiji said with a pout. “Who’s he?” Eiji asked, scratching the back of his head.

“That’s Kyoutani,” Yahaba said. Eiji's mouth shaped into an o.

“Why is he so mean?” Eiji asked. Yahaba chuckled but kicked Eiji’s leg.

“Be nice,” Yahaba scolded. Eiji sighed and turned to Kyoutani.

“Sorry,” Eiji said. Then he turned right back to Yahaba. “Now, gimmie my phone and scoot over.” Eiji snatched his phone and lightly pushes Yahaba over. Yahaba shoved him back. Eiji crossed his hands in front of himself. “I painted you differently.” Kyoutani raised an eyebrow, crossing his arms. “You look scary.” Kyoutani scoffed.

“Okay?” Kyoutani said.

“I imagined you softer, but then again it’s Yahaba. I don’t think he would give you a second glance if you were soft,” Eiji said. Yahaba pouted. Eiji ruffled his hair. “Aw~ don’t pout because I’m so smart.” Yahaba burst out into a hysterical laugh.

“Yes, yes, Eiji. So smart,” Yahaba laughed, tearing up. Kyoutani noticed how Yahaba pronounced Eiji as E-d-i-j-i. He wouldn’t have noticed this if Eiji didn’t say his name correctly when he introduced himself. “Sorry, sorry. Continue.”

“Thank you~” Eiji continued. “Kyoutani? Right? Uh- I don’t like you, but you probably don’t like me. So, we can just not like is other. I won’t fuck with Yahaba until you guys break up.” Yahaba hit his arm. Kyoutani growled. “If ya’ll break up…”

“I don’t even want him in contact with you,” Kyoutani barked. Eiji leaned in.

“Well, you can’t just show up and get rid of a big part of Yahaba’s life,” Eiji said with hate in his eyes. “So, you are stuck with me for a while.” Yahaba pulled Eiji back.

“Stop,” Yahaba said. Eiji rolled his eyes. “You have to respect his preferences.” Eiji rested his chin on his hand, looking at Yahaba.

“Are you going to block me?” Eiji asked.

“Not if you respect my decisions,” Yahaba said. Eiji scoffed. “Don’t fucking act all prissy. We just went over this.” Eiji looked at Yahaba with a fake ass smile. Kyoutani was sort of taken back by Yahaba talking back to someone who look like they could beat the shit out of him.

“Okay. Say I do stop texting you unless I am checking up on your well-being,” Eiji paused causing Kyoutani to put in his thoughts.

“You shouldn’t need to when he has me,” Kyoutani said. Eiji furrowed his eyebrows.

“I don’t fucking know you. You don’t act like you treat Yahaba any good. I know I’m going to be the first- maybe second because Watari exists, but he’ll still call me when you fuck up,” Eiji growled. “So don’t fuck up.” Eiji started to get up. “I’ll be the first to know about it. Then you’ll really wish Yahaba blocked me.” Eiji ruffled Yahaba’s hair. “Be good.” Then he walked away.  Yahaba sat there quietly. There was a moment of silence.

“Why are you here with him?” Kyoutani asked.

“I was just talking to him,” Yahaba said, playing with his fingers. “I was just trying to take care of everything while you were gone, so you don’t have to deal with him. It didn’t go as well as I thought. I didn’t want you guys to meet at all.” Kyoutani sighed heavily.

“You love me?” Kyoutani asked. Yahaba nodded. “Then I trust you. I don’t like him still.” Yahaba smiled.

“You don’t have to,” Yahaba said with a toothy grin. “Wanna come over?” Yahaba asked, sipping his coffee.

“Sure,” Kyoutani said, taking a piece of Yahaba’s cake.
