Dean awoke to the strip of light coming from the dawning sun streaming in the dark bedroom. He squinted, trying to decipher where was Bree since he figured she was not next to him asleep. He could see a shape in the room. "Morning," He said, stretching.

"Good morning," A man's voice said. Dean shot out of bed, standing up, brandishing a blade. "Crowley!" He said. The shadow came into the spare bit of light in the room. It really was Crowley. "Aw, Squirrell. I thought we were getting along now like a proper couple." Crowley joked.

"I don't trust you here. Where is Bree? Where do you have her?" Dean said. Crowley's eyebrow went up. "Good, never trust anyone. Even if I didn't know, I wouldn't be able to tell you." Crowley said with a smile. Dean glared at him. "Remind me why I shouldn't kill you right now!" Dean grunted.

"Because Bree is merely on the outside on the roof, I assure you I haven't touched a hair on her pretty pink head yet. I am only doing you a service... Wellness checks are important." Crowley said with a pointed look.

Dean could feel his cheeks redden. That must've meant that he knew they slept together. He wondered if he saw the whole thing or if he had only guessed it. He didn't care, he was cutting into his alone time with her. "Get out of here before I stab you, Crowley." Dean warned him.

"Sure, sure. I'll be gone in a quick flash as soon as she comes back in. She said she needed to sign something for me..." Crowley told him, barely looking up from his fingers. He seemed to be examining his cuticles in a bored manner.

Dean gave him a look of disgust to which Crowley paid no attention to. That was when Bree came in through the window, a stapled stack of folded papers in her hand. She gave it to Crowley, barely giving Dean a look. "What the hell are you doing with Crowley, Bree?" Dean asked her. Dean looked down at her as he took  a step closer. As did she.

"I'm making things right, Dean. I'm ending this...little fling I had with you. It was nice while it lasted." She said, squaring up to look at him in the face. She didn't want to be deemed a coward and owed him this. This was the last kindness she would do for him.

Crowley made a low "ooo" sound under his breath. He didn't expect for Bree to drop the ball on Dean like that. He was a bit fond of him despite them being enemies. Dean gasped. His green eyes were swimming with tears.

"What do you mean 'making things right' ?" He said, his voice cracking. This was heart breaking, she had betrayed him, Sammy, and Cas. Hell, even Zion—her closest friend. He could forgive himself if she had only done it to him but she included Sam. Dean felt Sam was the innocent in this situation.

"How could you do this to u—to Sammy, to Cas, to Zion? I—We spent all this time with you, getting along and now here is the big finale. Betrayal for us all, your closest family!" He asked her, trying to rein in how he felt. She braced herself to say it, the words she knew she needed to say to truly make the devastation he was facing set in.

"You never were my family. She was." She spoke, her voice wavering slightly. She willed herself to show no emotions. A blank canvas on her face was what she needed for this moment. The anguish of emotions, anger, shame, shock, and sadness. The emotions flitted across his face. Dean was broken again.
