The year is 2555, The UNSC continues its fight against the insurrection, Spartan-190 is sent alongside several other armed forces, and they successfully manage to complete their mission of clearing the threat in a library, where hostages are suspect...
The Spear Hero strode into the arena, with everyone cheering him on. The women especially fawned over him. Some fainted as well.
He looked around and didn't see his opponent anywhere. Now cocky, he laughed while saying, " Has my opponent chickened ou- huh?" He stopped upon seeing a shadow at the top of the arena.
The figure jumped down, falling what appeared to be approximately 100 feet, before slamming down on the ground, and sinking, shoulder deep into the dirt. As easily as he sunk in, he lifted himself out, not appearing to be hurting in any way, and his armor was scot-free.
This unnerved the once-cocky hero, he took that fall like it was nothing! He started trembling at the next sight, he materialized his MA5D and primed the slide. He was terrified, no doubt about it.
Naofumi was sitting with the other heroes, who went wide-eyed at the sight and tried talking to him.
"You have to stop him! He's going to kill Motoyasu!"
"He's got rubber bullets, they'll hurt like hell, but they won't kill him."
The two other heroes calmed down a bit but also felt sorry for the spear hero, who was about to be in a world of pain. Although to their surprise, he holstered the gun on his back, with nothing holding it? They dismissed this idea, assuming it's probably just magnets.
Mike entered a fighting stance and seemed as though he wasn't planning on using the gun, but was also intending for Motoyasu to take the first move. With that, his cocky grin returned.
"Fight!"
But it was a facade, and Motoyasu took the bait and lunged forward. Mike smirked under his helmet. He estimated the hero's lunge propelled him at approximately 25 mph, so he held back, and charged forward at 15 mph once he came close enough. By the time the Spear Hero realized his mistake, he had already taken a shoulder bash by the 1100 lb super-soldier, completely obliterating his armor, causing an audible crack, and flinging him into a wall. At this point, he wasn't able to stand without using a spear as support and was coughing up blood.
Myne looked on in utter disbelief, out of anger she launched an attack over towards Raptalia, Mike notices it, and goes into spartan time, everything slows to a crawl, his heartbeat is audible. Every footstep dug into the ground and sent dirt flying. But he realized he wouldn't make it in time.
But fortunately, he was close enough to her to use magic.
Without wasting any time, he uses his magic to create a barrier in front of her and the people in the general vicinity, with that, he saves her. He walks back to the Spear Hero, who furiously swung his spear at the spartan's neck, which caused the shields to mildly flare-up.
"2%? I guess he's not too bad then." Mike was mildly impressed. But, he decided the battle had gone on for long enough. Picking his enemy up by the neck, he then slammed him down on the ground. For added insult to injury, he punched the blonde guy in the gut.
The entire audience could be heard gasping at the ruthlessness of this soldier.
It didn't take an expert medic to tell that the spartan had beaten his opponent an inch away from death. He was not even conscious anymore.
"Get him a healer, this fight is over." Mike's voice echoed through the loudspeaker in his helmet. It made the all the spectators tremble.
Raphtalia seemed to be handling this incredibly well, which is something Naofumi didn't know how he should feel about. As for him though?
He didn't care in the slightest, in fact, it'd probably be a wake up call for the other two.
"Wait, where did they go?" Naofumi interrupted his thought upon noticing the other two heroes were no longer sitting next to him. "Don't tell me..."
Unfortunately, it seemed that suspicion was right. The two really did jump in to fight as well.
"Tch, well he can probably handle them both, but I do kinda want to stay on this guy's good side." The shield hero contemplated, and ultimately decided to jump in and assist the Spartan, even though it was entirely unnecessary.
But the next thing Mike did made the two instantly back down.
He grabbed the hilt of his energy sword, and with a crack that sent chills through the spines of all in his presence, his sword flared to life, the blade instantly growing to it's full length.
It was at this moment they realized the sheer scale of the man. He towered above them by well over a foot, and very clearly had the fighting experience, with the way he held himself. Not to mention they instantly recognized the sword, and knew what they were up against.
The two stood down, and Mike deactivated his sword. He turned to walk away, not breaking eye contact until his back was entirely facing he heroes. Everyone stared at him in awe, he singlehandedly defeated a hero, and saved a group of the crowd from an attack.
Yet no one cheered him on. Not one person took into consideration his prowess. Maybe he was too relentless, maybe he didn't give him enough of a chance? Could it be they feared him now, for having done such a thing to a hero of all people?
But it didn't matter, he was going to fight the waves with everything he had. But he was going to go slaughter monsters in the meantime, the city really isn't the place for him at the current moment.
"Skill point Gained" he heard his helmet, and a new pop up appeared in his visor. And this confused the spartan.
"This is different... The system changed?" His best assumption was that defeating a hero like that in combat may have done this, because of the fact he wiped the floor with them.
Did it make sense?
No, not really.
But that was besides the point because immediately, he saw something he knew he was going to want.
So using up that skill point, he then looked around and saw an outline up in the sky, and tried to zoom in, but then he heard Naofumi behind him.
"You good?"
"Yeah, I'm alright, just not sure what I did about my reputation back there."
"You gave that simp one hell of a beating, that's for sure."
"But now I feel like I'll be called a Demon alongside you now. It'll probably be harder for us both to find any legitimate help now."
Raphtalia chimed in, noticing an object in the sky, "Mr Chips, what's that up there?"
"Ah, you might want to stand back a bit." Mike moved them back before the object slammed into the ground, causing Raphtalia to jump on Naofumi, which ended up sending both to the ground.
Raphtalia blushed as she realized she was pressing against Naofumi, and jumped off while wrapping her arms around her chest.
The shield hero just sighed in response, as he dusted himself off. He didn't seem to really mind, aside from the fact he had to dust himself off.
And now Raphtalia was glad her master wasn't a pervert, but disappointed at the fact he still didn't see her as a girl, even when she fell against him.
But then the object that fell from the sky caught her attention. Its shape confused Raphtalia, but both Naofumi and Mike shared a content look as they gazed upon the vehicle in front of them.
