TO MANY, ANGELICA MARIE MARSDEN WAS CONSIDERED A SWEETHEART. Quiet and kind, Angel never had a bad word to say about anybody that didn't deserve it. The first-generation Ukrainian-American felt like she had a lot to prove, to make her father, a Ukrainian World War II writer proud. The earn herself the opportunites he never had in Kyiv.
OF COURSE, THAT WAS UNTIL ANGELICA LANDED HERSELF IN A SATURDAY DETENTION. A Saturday that would change her life forever, creating friends in places she never thought she'd find them- *cough* Claire Standish and Brian Johnson *cough*- and learning that John Bender wasn't as bad as everybody originally thought. Angel thought that becoming a part of the Breakfast Club would change her quiet, ordinary life for the better.
OR AT LEAST, IT WOULD HAVE. IF SHE HADN'T DEVELOPED A CRUSH ON ANDREW CLARK FIRST. At first she'd simply dismissed Andrew as another dumb jock, but after being locked in detention for six hours with the man, she really really started to like him: the way he laughed, his carefree attitude, the way he didn't let Bender push him around. Andrew Clark made her laugh, madde her heart race.
ALL OF THESE WERE FEELINGS THAT ANGEL WROTE FOR SAFE KEEPING IN A SERIES OF LETTERS TO ALL HER PAST CRUSHES, DATING BACK TO THE FOURTH GRADE. Feelings she had been too scared to act on. Until John Bender gets his hands on her journal, and access to every single letter she's ever written. Upon realizing the contents, Bender give Angelica an ultimatum: confess to Andrew Clark, or every single crush gets leaked. At first, Angelica thinks he's joking. But when fourth-grade crush Ryan Newton finds out about Angie's letter, things become all too real, and Angie must out-con and out-crook John Bender, as well as come to terms with her feelings for Andrew Clark before Andrew finds out from an outside source. It's time for Angelica Marsden to play dirty.
