Chapter 8
Thomas's P.OV.
I can't believe that Joey agreed on coming over to play video games with me, it's going to be so much fun. Its Friday and I'm sitting behind Joey in our last period class and I can't stop smiling, I'm too excited. He even said that he might want to sleep over. I haven't had a sleepover in forever and since its at my house, my parents are gonna be checking in on us a lot but I don't care. My dad doesn't get back from work until like 10:30 so I don't have to worry about him for a while.
*Bring* I watch as Joey puts his things in his bag before he turns around with a big smile on his face.
"Ready to get beat in smash bros?" I'm a beast at smash bros.
"You said that you were going to go easy on me." He frowns but I laugh.
"Yeah, okay I'll go easy on you."
"You better, I haven't played video games in forever." We make our way out of the classroom.
I drive us to a 711 to stock up on junk food.
"I LOVE Cheetos so much." I can hear him opening the bag as I focus on the road. I know he loves cheetos he has told me like a million times already plus he bought like 3 bags of them. "Don't you just love Cheetos?"
"Sure."
"Say ahhh!" He shoves 3 Cheetos in my mouth and I carefully swallow them without choking.
"You don't just shove things into a person's mouth while they are driving, what if I choked and died and crashed the car, causing you to die as well?" While I turn right, on to my street, I catch him stuffing his face with more Cheetahs making me chuckle.
"Its okay though, because you are smiling."
"That's just because I love smiling." I say matter of a factually.
"No, I know the real reason why, if I died in the car crash, then we would both be dead and that way I could be dead with you because you don't want to be dead alone." It takes me a while to register what he said because he said it with a mouth full of cheetos, but once I do, I can't control my laughter.
"Whoa there driver, I don't actually want to die in a car crash." He says as we start swerving on the road. I try to control my laughter but it's hard because everything that Joey says is hilarious.
"I've never been down here before." I hear Joey whisper as we get out of my car and over to the elevator.
In the elevator, we discuss which game we are honing to play.
"You know what, why don't you just pick the game because I have no idea what I want to play." Joey says as the elevator door opens.
Walking down the hall to my apartment, we pass Michael's room. When Joey sees the room his face pales for a second then he looks away. Why did his face pale? Did Michael hurt him, does he have bad memories of being in there? Probably not by what I hear. Is he embarrassed. I have no idea.
I open the door and show him around. First the living room, the kitchen, the bathroom, my parents office, my parents room and my room.
"Its cute and cozy." He says once we get in my room. My parents told me that it's not an apartment, it's a condo, which means they own it, like a house. I don't get it, but whatever. I watch as he gets comfy on my old ass bean chair thingy. My older brother gave it to me. There is duct tape over a hole, it's dark green and looks really ratchet. I haven't sat on that thing in forever, I'm afraid it'll rip or something.
