Chapter 6

Emily's POV

Ring ring ring.

I woke up by the ring of my phone. Groaning I took the phone from the side table. I looked up at the unknown number. Who would be calling me at this hour.

"Uh hello?" I spoke

"Hey Emily it's me" a familiar female voice said.

"Who me?" I asked. You see I'm always like that in the morning.

"It's me millie from the office. Rings any bell?" She said totally annoyed.

"Oh right. Hey, how'd you get my number?"

"What's with all these questions, boss told me that you need to buy business clothes so we're going shopping." She said excitedly.

"Oh shit I totally forgot about that."

"Yeah I'll pick you up in 20mins be ready. Oh I know a place. It's gonna be sooo fun. And then we'll have lunch. And it's going to be so fun" she exclaimed happily.

"Didn't you said that twice? And why the hell are we going this early it's five in the morning." I whine

"You're kidding right? It's 10:30 you better get your ass up and be ready I'll be there in 20 bye." With that she hung up.

I get out of my bed and stripped from my night dress. I showered quickly with my vanilla shampoo and conditioner. After shower I brushed my teeth and dressed up in fitted jeans and a cute top. I did my hair and made some breakfast for me.

I checked my phone if anyone left any message or call. Mona left a message I should call her.

After two rings she picked up.

"Hello darling, how are you?" She asked happily.

"I'm good thanks. How are you and pebbles doing?" Pebbles is her cute puppy, I missed her cute bark. She used to snuggle in me when I was depressed. She'd lick my face when she wants anything. Thinking about her made me smile.

"I've been good. Pebbles is missing you alot. I've been busy with my book shop. Wish you'd be here to help me." She sighed. I used to help her when I get free from studies and other job.

Then I heard my doorbell rang. That must be millie.

"Oh I miss her too. I'm just going for shopping with a friend I'll call you later." I said quickly.

"Okay honey take care of yourself. " and then I hung up. I quickly ran towards the door. And millie stood there.

"Hey how ar- wait how did you know where I lived? " I asked with an eyebrow raised.

"Oh I got your address from the form you filled tomorrow. Remember?" She asked with a 'duh' tone.

Rolling my eyes playfully. I said "yeah whatever com'on I want to get over with this shopping thing as soon ad possible so I could get home early and then I could watch some movies." I said.

She watched me like I was mental or something. Then she grinned "okay we can watch a movie together and pig out." She said excitedly.

"Sure, cool" I grinned. We get to the mall and start looking for business clothes. After an hour millie practically threw clothes at my face an said "try them out."

"Millie I think they're good we should buy them there's no need to try them out" I whined.

"Em stop being a baby and try them. Hurry up we need to buy shoes as well. Now go" her hands on her hips. She was scolding like a mother.

I narrowed my eyes at her and went towards the trial room. I wore them one by one and showed to millie for her approval.

After two hours of shopping feel exhausted "Millie we should head back I'm tired. We bought enough clothes" I said.

"We need to buy shoes now hurry up you fat ass." She said teasingly.

"Hey take that back I'm not a fat ass." I pouted.

"Yeah whatever. Look those killer shoes. Looks your size try it."

"You're not serious are you? They are what 6 inch heels I wont try it I might fall down and embarrass myself and I might twist my ankle. There's no way I'd buy them." I said stubbornly. Crossing my arms over my chest.

"Stop over exaggerating things Em. You've wore heels before. So there shouldn't be any problem."

"Yeah but that was like 3 or 4 inch heel." I defended.

"Right. Now try them." She said flatly. I huffed and wore it. "fine, how is it?"

"Great, we'll take it" she grinned.

We shopped for few more hours and then went for a lunch. We chat for a few then went home.

"Millie I'm going to shower. Make yourself at home. And pick up a movie." I said to her.

I quickly got into shower and showered for good fifteen minutes. Then I changed into some sweatpants and an old tee-shirt. I went in the living room to find millie on the couch. We decided to watch a horror movie 'hills got eyes 2'.

I was kind of afraid of horror movies. It makes me paranoid. After watching half of the movie. Millie clung onto me for her dear life. She was screaming like the creepy killer is stabbing her. I rolled my eyes at her childish behavior. But to be very honest I was scared as well.

After an hour of watching we decided to order pizza. We ate and chatted for a while then we called it a night. She went home and texted me that she reached home safely.

I went to the bed. I didn't get any sleep, I was staring at the ceiling thinking about my past. How everything has changed. How I am alone in this place. Barely even know anyone. Had a loving father who isn't anymore. A brother who hate me and blame me for everything. And then my my boss, who yells at me for basically no reason. The thoughts make me want to scream and cry. What have I done to deserve this kind of life.

If only my mother was alive. She would hug me and talk sweet things, would comfort me every time I cry. She would bake me those delicious cookies. I miss my mom, I miss her so much that it cause more pain to my heart.

Tears brimming from my eyes. I should contact my brother and ask for answers why he had to leave me when I needed him the most. Maybe we can sort out everything. We can clear all the misunderstandings. We can start a fresh life.

That's it, I'm going to meet zack and confront everything. With the thoughts I yawned. I set my alarm and drifted to sleep immediately. Hopefully tomorrow I can make my boss less angry.
