MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!!!
It has a little angst but not that much at all.
Akaashi sat in the snow behind the library next to a large heater. He looked to the sky and saw fireworks celebrating Christmas. He was so cold, his clothing not helping him stay warm at all.
"I could die happy tonight."
Akaashi shivered and breathed into his hands. His lips were blue and everything felt frostbitten. It all hurt so much.
He had on a thin coat, ripped jeans that were a size too big, a wool sweater filled with holes, and sneakers filled with snow. He curled into a tighter ball to stay warm. He just had to wait for some sun tomorrow.
"Hello? Anyone there?"
Akaashi forced himself to the wall and stayed quiet. He heard loud footsteps approach. He couldn't be caught. Even though the library was closed, the heater was on to keep the older books from freezing. Coincidentally, that was also the heater Akaashi pressed himself against.
The footsteps stopped a few feet away. The sound of snow crunching stopped.
"Hey there."
Akaashi jumped up and bolted, not even looking at the man who called out to him. He couldn't run fast though. His joints hurt and he hasn't gone on a run in years. The cold wasn't helping much either.
But alas, the man caught up too quickly. Akaashi felt strong arms wrap around him and hold him tight.
"Hey! Hold on! I'm not gonna hurt you!"
Akaashi highly doubted that. But he didn't have any more energy to struggle. Going two days without food will do that to you.
"Damn you're freezing. Do you have a place to stay?"
Akaashi breathed for a moment, calming himself down.
"No."
The man hummed in acknowledgment. Akaashi was put down and turned around. Akaashi saw the man's face that was lit up by a gold firework. The man took off his thick very heavy, long, wool-lined coat and wrapped it around Akaashi. Then, he picked him up again.
Akaashi almost couldn't handle the weight of the jacket on his thing body. But, the coat was already warmed from the man's body heat. Akaashi felt like he was in heaven.
Akaashi reluctantly wrapped his legs and arms around the man as he began to walk somewhere. Honestly, Akaashi didn't care anymore.
"I'm Bokuto Koutarou. You can stay with me for a little while. Why don't you come to have dinner with my family for Christmas?"
Akaashi took a moment to process what he had just said. It sounded lovely but he couldn't intrude or ruin the night for Bokuto. It was Christmas, and that meant spending it with family, family who cared.
"I don't want to intrude. I'm not the sort who would be welcome in a family setting."
Bokuto had a confused look on his face, not getting the point at all.
"What?"
"I'm a prostitute."
Bokuto laughed a little and smiled down at Akaashi.
"So? It's just a dinner, besides! It loooks like you really need some Christmas spirit in you uh-"
"Akaashi Keiji."
"Akaashi! You look like you could use some company."
Akaashi gave in as he was set into a car. They drove and talked on the way to Bokuto's parents' home. When they pulled up, Akaashi realized he wasn't properly dressed for any family gathering. If his parents saw him, they would kick him out again.
