Jay's POV
I'm the first one to get downstairs the next day. I guess everyone was exhausted after last night. I look at the time on my phone. 11.15 am already. Well guess I could make some breakfast for everyone. I start working on it when I hear someone coming down. "Morning." Sam comes in. "Goodmorning sleepyhead. Is Will already up?" I ask her. She shakes her head. "And then he was telling me not to watch an episode at 1 pm because it was too late. Look who is already up right now?" She jokes. I laugh. "Yeah and guess how you got in your bed? If it wasn't for me you would still be sleeping on the couch little one." Will comes in. "Wait, I did get in my bed by myself." Sam defends herself. "Hah never, I got downstairs at 1.30 pm and you were snoring on the couch. So I brought you upstairs." Will laughs. "I don't snore!" Sam calls out. "Oh yeah you do." I join the conversation. "Hey as if you two don't snore!" Sam says. "Let's eat shall we?" I suggest and hand her a plate with scrambled eggs. "Thanks!" She says and starts to eat. I give Will a plate too and then make myself one. We eat for a while in silence when Sam nervously looks around. "Guys? Can I ask you something?" She looks at us. "Sure, what is it?" Will answers. "Uhm. I was wondering if I could go to the movies upcoming Friday?" She asks. "I don't see why not. Sure. Who are you going with?" I say. "Well. You know him. You met him that time he drove me to the hospital when I collapsed at school. And he helped me with Mr. Gathy. It is Ian." She explains. "Soo it's a date?" Will questions. Sam slightly nods. "A date? Sorry but you're not going on a date." I say. "What? Why? You were fine with it a minute ago. Just because it is a boy?" Sam says. "Yes, because it is a boy. I don't want you to go out with someone we barely know. I know how boys think." I defend myself. "You don't barely know him. He helped me out and is there for me. He is not like other boys!" Sam calls out. "I don't care I don't want it." I say. "Will?" Sam hopefully looks at him. "We just don't want you to get hurt little one. We are just looking out for you." Will softly says. "This is definitely not looking out for me. This is punishing me for something I can't do anything about." Sam says. "Sorry Sam, it is not happening. You're staying at home Friday." I simply say. "Ugh! Why don't you guys understand anything?!" Sam gets up and rushes to her room. She slams her door. I get up to go after her but Will stops me. "Leave her alone for a bit to calm down." He says. "We did good right?" I question out loud. "Yeah. But Ian is a good kid. He cares about her." Will says. I slightly nod. After about 20 minutes I can't control it and go upstairs. I knock on Sam's door but no response. "Sammy can we talk?" I question. Again no response. "Sam?" I say and open her door. "Leave me alone Jay." Sam says facing her window. "Can we talk?" I ask. "What is the point of talking? You already said  no." Sam answers. "It is just for your own good sweetie. We just want to protect you." I defend myself. "Protect me? You have known Ian for months. He was there for me! He is not like the boys you think Jay!" Sam calls out. "Whoa calm down. I just want you to understand what our point is in this." I say. "I get what your point is, but Ian is not like that. He actually cares about me." She says. I sigh and think about it. "Allright here is the deal. You can go on a date with Ian, BUT we want to meet him first and you have to be home by 10 pm. Got it?" I look at her. "Yes! Oh my god thank you." She calls out and gives me a hug. "But what made you change your mind?" Sam questions. "Well I think you're old and responsible enough to not break our rules. And if you do, just remember I'm a cop. I'll figure everything out." I smile. "Urgh finee." She smiles and gets up. "What about Will?" She says. "I'll talk to him, go get yourself ready." I say and leave her on her own. I get downstairs where I meet Will again who is watching a basketball game. "Soo, how did that go?" He asks as soon as he sees me. "I agreed that she could go on that date." I say. "What I th—" Will starts but I cut him off. "Before you go all protective mode, I said that we want to officially meet him and she has to be back home at 10. If she doesn't I will figure it out. No problem." Will relaxes a bit. "Allright then. But he better not do anything stupid to her." He says frowning. "If he is smart, he wouldn't." I admit.
