"Dito na lang... Salamat sa paghatid, Vonn." I unbuckled my seatbelt and went outside. Sumunod naman siya na lumabas sa sasakyan."Is this your house?" he curiously asked while pointing at my gate. Oh right, this is his first time here.
"Ah yes, I didn't bring enough clothes and shoes for my stay here. Pumasok ka na sainyo." he encouraged me to go inside first.
"Wait, may ibabalik pala ako sayo. Stay there!" I immediately went inside the gate.
I went inside and turned on the lights. I found the form in my bag and exactly when I' m about to go in the first floor. All the lights went off.
"It's blackout. Are you okay?"
Ngumisi naman ako dahil lagi naman mag-isa kapag ganito. "I'm fine...
"Thank you... Where are your parents? Ikaw lang 'ata ang nandito." he looked around. He fixed his hoodie that was covering his eyes.
"Mag-isa lang ako sa bahay. My parents died when I was 10 years old, fire accident."
"I'm sorry..." he stared at my face.
"Matagal na 'yon! I'm okay now." I don't know if I meant it or what. I don't want to talk about it because I would just be reminded of the accident all over again.
"Are you sure you're okay?" ulit niya.
"I'm gonna stay here for a while...
I unplugged the refrigerator in the kitchen.
"Juice oh... Uminom ka muna. Baka matagalan pa bumalik ang kuryente. I'm used to this so it's not a big deal.
"Simula noon mag-isa ka ng nakatira dito?" he specifically didn't mention my parent's death but that's what he's referring to.
"No... my tita brought me to Manila.
"Was it hard?" lumipat ang tingin niya saakin ngayon. No one really have ever asked me this question.
"It was... But I have my friends here. Si Arthur, you haven't met him yet but he's great. Am I backstabbing him? I've told that to Arthur a couple of times so I don't think that will count as one.
"I've also met him in the club before... I'm glad you have friends to lean on to." binaba niya ang baso sa table.
"I won't survive if it wasn't for them. Uh, tama na nga ang drama... I think you should go. It's already 7:30 pm. Magsarado na niyan ang SM." tumayo ako.
