Being the Sober Driver

I shot out of bed, annoyed at how i couldn't get to bed. This is just too much! I've been twisting and turning for ages now! I groaned lightly before checking my phone that was on the the night stand. 1:45 in the morning. 1:45am!! I should be getting some rest so i can be full of energy at the beach!

'Go to the pool.' My wolf told me and i cursed in my head before getting out of my bed. The girls were still asleep which i was grateful for. They would be asking me where i was going and why, heck, i didn't even know?!

'This better be good.' I told her, slipping on my black flip flops and wearing my pink hoodie over my white tank top. It may be hot here but at night, it is freezing! I put my hood up before walking to the door, not before grabbing my phone and access card. I sighed before walking through the hall and towards the entrance.

The place was silent and it was dark, besides from the floor lights by the wall. I sighed and stuffed my hands into the pockets of my hoodie. It was cold. I walked through the entrance place before going to the pool. I was really suprised to find my mom and dad sitting on the edge with their feet in the water, mom leaning on dad and dad hugging her from the side.

"Are you guys alright?" I asked, caustiously walking towards them. There looked up and smiled at me before mom whispered something to dad. Dad pecked her lips before getting up and walking towards me. He smiled at me before kissing my forehead and walking away. He looked sad to be honest.

"Come sit." My mom said, patting to the spot next to her. Ok, this is weird. They both look sad and they are never sad! I nodded and went to sit where she patted. Once i had my legs in the icy cold water, i turned to look at her.

"What happened mom?" I asked above a whisper. She sighed before paddling her feet in the water, creating little waves that tickled my legs.

"I'm going to tell you something." She said, breaking the awkward silence.

"Uhm, ok?" I said.

"But you have to promise me some things first." She said seriously, turning to look in my eyes. I gulped before nodding. This must be important. "You can not tell anyone." She said, and i nodded as i agreed to her terms. "You can not get mad or sad about it because it is in the past." She said, looking back to the water.

"Yeah, i uh, promise." I said, looking back to our legs as well. She did a big sigh before beginning.

"It was the day before my sixtenth birthday." She started, in a shakey breathe. "Sams old Beta, Chris,  kidnapped Kim and i." I gasped at what she said. Alpha Sams' old Beta kidnapped mom? Why?!

"What?!" I yelled, outraged by the statement. This has to be some joke.

"Shhhh!" She scolded, making me silent and listen to her. "He tortured Kim and i but about two weeks later, Jace came and saved us obviously. We captured him but he escaped by killing Matt. He was one of the youngs that i had trained and was made to guard Chris. We searched for him for a year but i could tell how frustrated Jace was getting from not finding him so i told him to stop. We argued for a bit but then he finally agreed to stop the search." She finished, slouching and i think, wiping a tear from her eye.

This was so much to take in! So she was kidnapped by this Chris guy and he tortured her and Kim. They caught him but he escaped by killing Matt. They stopped searching for him which means he could still be alive!

"He could still be alive!" I yelled, staring at her in shock. She shook her head and gave me a weak smile.

"It has been more than 20 years. We haven't heard any sightings of him so he is most likely dead." She stated and i nodded, glad that the sicko was dead.
