Is This Even Coffee?

Confusion

You came into work late again. You stayed out late just driving around last night. Sorting your thoughts takes a lot of time. Yugi was already there clocking in as well. Guess he was also late. Once you clocked in you both got to work. It felt awkward. Yugi wasn't talking you besides the regular work talk. You felt pretty bad, but he probably needed some space, so you just let him be.

Seto came in at his usual time. You didn't even try to pull any stunt during his order this time. Before you could put in his usual order he stopped you. He asked for the butterfly latte. You went ahead and make it for him. You serve it to him once you're finished.

"What's with the mood in here?" He asked.

"It's a long story. You should head back to work, it's getting busy." You responded.

With that he took off. You watched him for a bit. Then you got back to work. The rest of the shift went by silently. You both worked in silence. Once everyone had left you both got started on cleaning. Maybe you could use this time to talk to him.

"Yugi." You called to him.

He looked over at you.

"We need to talk." You said as you started sweeping.

"Yeah." He sighed out.

"I thought things out last night. You're a good friend but I don't have those feelings for you." You said while sleeping.

Yugi wiped down the counters as he listened.

"I'm not sure of my feelings of Seto, but I think I'm developing feelings for him." You said.

You heard Yugi laugh a bit. "You just realized you liked him?" He asked.

"Huh?!" You exclaimed.

"It's pretty obvious you like him. I'm surprised you just figured it out." He replied.

You blushed. "It took me a few hours to figure it out last night." You mumbled.

He laughed some more. You laughed a bit. You were glad you were both talking again. You both continued cleaning and making small talk.

"Why were you quiet all day?" You asked.

"Just wanted to mope a bit." He replied shyly.

"Figured as much." You said.

Once you finished up cleaning you both headed outside. You locked up the shop and headed towards your cars. As you walked up to your car a lady jumped out of nowhere. She grabs your hand and starts to lead you away from your car.

"We need to talk." She demanded.

"What?" You asked.

"Just come with me." She said as she drags you away.

"No. I'm sorry but I don't know you." You raised your voice.

"Is there a problem?" Yugi interrupted as he popped up behind her.

"Yes!" You said and broke from that ladies grip.

"Look. I just want to talk." The lady said.

"Then talk to me another time, I want to go home." You said as you walked back to your car.

She grabbed you again and pulled you back. You let out a yelp before you turned around to smack her in the face. You quickly jumped into your car and turned it on. You saw Yugi. Bolt as well.

She slams herself against your window. "Open this door right now!!" She yelled.

You quickly back up your car and you feel a small bump. Oh shit. You look back to the lady. Who is now hunched over on the floor. Oh god. You ran over her foot. You opened the window to your passenger door just a crack.

"Sorry!" You yelled out.

You quickly drove off before she could get up and slam into your car again. You rushed home hoping that you weren't followed home. You doubt it though. You ran over her foot. What'd she want? Where was she taking you? Strange.

When you got into work the next day nothing seemed out of the ordinary. No weird lady just Yugi clocking in. You quickly put all your stuff away and clocked in as well. Once work started you quickly forgot about last night. Everything was going fine. Soon Seto came in as usual.

"Seems livelier here today." He stated.

"It's better today." You responded. "What would you want to drink?"

"How about a coffee?" He asked.

"Nah. I think you want something a little sweeter." You responded.

He groaned as you put in his drink. You just laughed at his misery like an evil coffee mastermind. You put two scoops on ice cream in a large cup and filled it with cold brew coffee. You topped it with whip cream and chocolate shavings. You read about this online. It's called an Eis Kaffe. You served it to him with two straws and a spoon.

"You put ice cream in this?" He asked.

"Yup!" You exclaimed.

"I'll only drink it if you try it first." He replied.

"Let's try it together!" You said grabbing one of the straws.

Reluctantly he grabbed the other straw and you both tasted it together. It was really good. Refreshing for a warm day. You were going to make this for you and Yugi later. You looked at Seto. You could see him blushing a lot. You finished your sip and backed away.

"Yup. This is good." He said as he quickly tried to leave.

You looked back at Yugi and cleared your throat. You tried to get back to work but your head was fuzzy. You kept thinking about how close your faces were. You couldn't think straight. Yugi broke you from your thoughts though. It was already closing time. Thank god.

You both cleaned up everything. When that was done you make your and Yugi an Eis Kaffee. It was perfect since today was especially hot. You both headed to your cars. That's when you remembered the lady from yesterday. She didn't seem to be anywhere in sight though. You were able to get home safely.
