The younger Estella ran her hands through her chestnut hair as she snuck down the cobblestone path towards the Quidditch pitch. Ever since watching her first game in her first year, all she wanted to do was get onto the Gryffindor team.

But there was a slight obstacle. Although she begged her father for a broom, they were unable to afford any. But Estella, not one to give up so easily, had a plan to get on a broom for just a few moments. It's all she wanted.

It was winter so most of the students were inside, staying away from the cold bitter air. Estella, with her wool hat and gloves on, approached the broom cupboard by the empty pitch.

"Alohomora," She muttered with her wand pointed at the lock. The lock came undone and the wooden door swung open. She let out a small laugh at the fact that it was that easy to get into.

She then looked through the different types of brooms, knowing each make as the closest she got to have her own broom was having a catalog on them. Estella then grabbed the best make and hurried off onto the pitch before someone caught her.

The grass on the pitch had collected frost making it appear a white colour. But just as she was about to mount the broom, she noticed the box of the different quidditch balls used in the game. She hurried towards it and tried to pull it open.

It was a bit heavy but she was able to get it open. She stared at them in awe before picking up the Quaffle. She threw it up in the air before catching it in her hands as she hurried back to the grass.

She then mounted the broom before kicking herself off the grass as hard as her legs could. And with that, she was up in the air. Estella flew up towards the many hoops, the Quaffle still in her hands.

She then glanced down at the ball before winding her arm backward and throwing it towards the hoops. Her eyes were wide as she watched the Quaffle fly straight through the hoop, making her arms fly up into the air in celebration.

"Ten points to Gryffindor!" She roared with a large grin on her face. Suddenly, a voice made her jump and almost lose her balance. "Where did you get that broom from Miss Lupin?"

Estella looked down to see Professor McGonagall standing on the pitch below, her voice able to be heard clearly from high in the air without shouting. She let out a huff as she leaned forwards to go back down to the grass.

"The broom cupboard Professor." She replied with her head to the ground, the broom in her hand. "I don't remember you having a broom in there." The Professor pointed out.

"I took it," Estella confessed as she held out the broom for the teacher to take. She finally had the courage to look up at McGonagall who stared at her with curiosity.

"Well, where is yours?" She asked as she pushed her glasses up her nose. "Don't have one. We got no money." Estella said with a shrug. Then, the teacher let out a small hum.

"Have you ever thought of trying out for the team?" Estella seemed surprised by this question as she was expecting to be given a detention by the Professor. "Haven't thought about it." Estella lied.

"Well, you should. You'd make an excellent chaser." And with that, she walked away from her. No detention, no points taken, nothing. Estella watched the teacher walk away with confusion before a small smile appeared on her face which had gone rosey from the cold.

Estella skipped back to the castle and into the Great Hall where all the students were having lunch. She slid onto the bench beside Remus who was trying to eat his sandwich before his sister hit his arm.

"I'm trying out for the Quidditch team." She announced proudly which caught the attention of James Potter sitting opposite. "You are?" He asked with a scoff, making her scowl in his direction.

"Got a problem with that Potter?" She glared at the boy on the other side of the table. Remus looked up at his friend and shook his head, which was his way to leave it to avoid an argument. And although James knew exactly what he meant, he ignored him.

"McGonagall said I'd make a great chaser." She bragged, knowing that it would annoy James. "She said the same to me." He replied sharply. "No, she didn't," Sirius said with furrowed brows.

James elbowed Sirius' arm which made Estella snicker. "Don't worry Potter. I'm sure they'll give you something." She paused. "Like the changing room cleaner." Estella continued with a smirk.

Estella sat at the windowsill of her dormitory one foggy morning, the cup of tea in her hand melting the frost on the glass. The door suddenly opened which made her look over to see Lily sticking her head through.

"Morning," The red-headed greeted. "Mornin," Estella replied back as she took a sip of her tea.
"Are you coming for breakfast?" She asked in her usual sweet voice. Estella hummed slightly as she shook her head. "I'm not hungry."

Lily then smiled as she straightened the prefect badge on her cloak. "Okay, but there are some snacks in my dorm if you are ever hungry." The Gryffindor told her. "Why, aren't you a good prefect?" Estella laughed as the redhead closed the door behind her.
