The day dawned through London's hazy sky, lighting up the streets in its foggy sunlight.
Undertaker opened his eyes to the sight of the female he had just met by coincidence from the night before. Slouching over the enormous-sized coffin he deemed as a table, she was still asleep. He admired her long dark eyelashes and her gorgeous multi-colored locks.
He had never been this soft to any female before, since Cloudia's death. He had always been quite eccentric and enigmatic since then.
He thought he could never be soft to anyone else other than himself and the corpses, but he was wrong.
He listened to her speak until midnight, when she started to nod off to sleep. His eyes stayed open wide for a while before falling asleep as well.
She is someone he would love to keep by his side as a friend and a companion, as he recognized that he had always been alone in this shop, with a few guests visiting him on special occasions.
His brows slightly furrowed at the thought of special occasions. A 15-year-old female's corpse arrived the other day before Neriko came.
She had signs of dehydration and starvation, along with cosmetic traits on her face, resulting in the skin there being paler than the dead.
He took proper care of her corpse before giving her a place in one of his available coffins. Upon the thought of the cause of the 15-year-old's death, he suddenly felt unease in his chest, and his eyes unconsciously moved their gazes over to Neriko, who had shifted in her place just a minute ago.
She looked so young, so delightful, so enthusiastic... like a daisy.
Goosebumps grew all over his skin as the thought suddenly invaded his preoccupied mind, resulting in him only focusing on her and her safety.
He grew fear of the possibility that she might end up just like his recent little customer. He felt the brotherly urge to protect her at all costs, even though they just met the night before.
Neriko suddenly ceased to sleep and caught Undertaker off guard by her small yawn. She sat straight up and stretched her arms while yawning again.
"Good morning Mr. Undertaker!" She spoke a greeting with a sleepy voice. Her hands brought themselves up to wipe the tears off of her eyes as the mentioned male watched her. He giggled his familiar tune.
"Good morning, Neriko!" He grinned.
"Since you're new to town, I can ask a favor from one of my friends to take you out? Or may I take you out myself?" His funny voice spoke through her daze of mind. She looked back at him with a glistening in her eyes.
"Well?" He giggled, amused by her reaction. His gaze befell from the dusky windowsill to where she's sitting, waiting for an answer.
"Stranger danger, that's what my friends told me. I can trust you enough, Mr. Undertaker." She grinned widely, probably getting excited from the thought that she could roam from place to place again, like how she used to do in Mondstadt.
