My mum places six plates of casserole on the table. I pick up my fork and dig in.
"It's just like old times." The twins recite. I swallow my food and laugh.
"Haydens taking the first bites." Ethan laughs.
"Should have seen her in Toronto." Aidan giggles.
"Shush." I hit him lightly.
"The first day shooting, she thought we were going to be late so she shoved her food in her mouth quickly and ran without shoes and socks." He continues, ignoring my 'shut up right now' look I'm giving him. I look at my family and let out a little laugh as they burst out in laughter.
"You two had fun didn't you?" My mum asks, not understanding where my mind went.
"Yeah--" I croak, "so much fun."
"It was a blast." Aidan smiles, grabbing hold of my hand under the table. I look up at him and blush a little.
A knock comes from the door.
"I'll get it." Ethan says, standing up and walking to the door. I pray, and I mean hope and pray that It's not Pierce or, especially, Jean. CRACK! The door swings open. A muffled conversation starts. I hear Ethan crying. I pull Aidan to his feet and run to the door.
"Dad?"
(I'm sorry this was really short short, I promise the next will be longer I just needed the dramatic ending, xx Em <3)
