Aidan and I walk out of a coffee shop a little ways down the block from our hotel room. We both got black coffee, getting in character?
"I'm so stressed." I admit.
"About the auditions?" Aidan wonders.
"Mhm.."
"You're going to do perfect, you won't put the script down." He motions to the hand not holding my coffee.
"I know. I just really want this part." I sigh.
"I want the part of Five, just don't worry, you've been to auditions before." He puts a hand on my shoulder as we walk to the place where auditions are held.
"How are you not stressed? You just said you really want the part of Five?" I ask.
"You're next to me." He smiles. I can feel blush spreading across my face. I look down at my outfit. Before we left, I changed into a blue, plaid skirt and a fuzzy, white crop top. Aidan put on a pair of jeans, a black tee shirt, and a black sweatshirt. I look back up.
"You're cringy."
"Maybe a little bit." He winks. We walk into the building and over to a desk. "Names." The lady orders.
"Hayden Kooper and Aidan Gallagher." Aidan replies.
" Go right and it's the first door on the left." The lady informs us.
"Thank you." I say.
"Good luck kids." She waves us away. We walk down the hall and enter through the blue door with a paper on it that says 'The Umbrella Academy' on it.
"Ready?" Aidan asks.
"More ready than I'll ever be." I sigh. Working with Aidan would be so much fun. Eight and Five both have the teleportation and time travel ability so that means we will pretty much share the stage, most of our scenes will have the other in it. It seems so fun to be shooting with him everyday. Gah, I'm so nervous.
"Aidan Gallagher and Hayden Kooper." A man calls. Here we go."You both did great, we will email you later or tomorrow if you got the parts." The man says.
"Thank you." I utter. We walk out of the building. So many people tried out for the roles we want, it's like a one out of a million chance we will get the parts.
"I think it went well." Aidan says, he looks worried though.
"I think so too." I try to comfort him. "You did amazing."
"I don't know about that." He laughs.
"Stop it! You did great!" I took offence to that comment. He did way freaking better than I did. Of course I'm not saying that outloud. He's one of those people that would be like, 'oh no you did great', like me but I don't lie.
"Eh, you did better." He says.
"Did not, I wouldn't be surprised if I didn't get the part." I shrug.
"Don't talk like that. You're going to get the part. You were so believable." Aidan gasps.
"So were you though. Honestly, I thought you really did want to murder someone." I laugh.
"Maybe I did." He moves his eyebrows up and down. We both laugh harder. His laugh is so cute. Who would think this adorable person could play a psychopath. He was perfect though. Absolutely perfect. What am I thinking? I can't like him. Can I?
"Want to get some dinner?" He snaps me out of my thoughts. I look up at the brown haired, green eyed, 5'8 boy.
"I'd love to." I really didn't notice how late it was getting. Auditions really took all damn day. I guess we did have to wait a bit.
"Let me find a good restaurant." Aidan takes out his phone. I take mine out too just to see that I have several miss calls, six from my mum, two from Ethan, and four from both Alec and Owen. Shoot.
"I need to call someone back." I apologize and ring my mum. She answers admittedly.
"Hello?" She says.
"Hey, sorry I missed your calls, I didn't see them."
"I'm just glad you're okay." She smiles. "Did you make any friends at auditions?"
"Before," I move the phone to show Aidan who's trying to find a place to eat. He looks up and waves to the camera.
"Hey." He says.
"Hello!" My mum replies. "He's cute."
"MUM!" I blush a little. "I'll call you back later, we're going to get some food."
"Have fun, we miss you here." She adds.
"We miss you Hayden!" I hear Alec and Owen call from the background.
"I miss you guys too." I say and hang up.
"Family?" Aidan asks.
"Yeah, my mum, little brothers Alec and Owen, and I have a big brother too, he wasn't home I guess."
"House of boys?" He laughs a bit.
"Except for my dad who's never home." I add a sad smile.
"Oh I'm sorry."
"It's okay, he's in the Navy."
"You must be proud." Aidan assumes. I never really thought of it like that. He hasn't been home since I was 5. I guess it is pretty cool, my dad is fighting for our country.
"I am."
