First Life: The Crown Prince

I was just sitting while drink tea in the garden and talked with the man in front of me. It's Count Fredrick, my father. We were discussing about how can we celebrate my 16th birthday. It will be in one month from now.

He somehow had managed to do everything and just giving me of whom I will invite to the party. Somehow he gave me a chance to invite her. It will be easy if she come to the party, though. Yes, I am planning to invite Lady Yulliana Harber so we can be close. As long as we are friends, her fate to die without happy ending may be disappear.

"So, who do you have in mind?"

I startled a little because of his voice with a "huh?".

He repeated it again.

I replied with, "um... Maybe I will invite Lady Harber..." with a slow voice so he can't hear but still can. You know what I mean.

He flinched a little and said, "so her name will be first, do you have any?"

" I will tell you tomorrow after I decide to choose who." answered me.

"Okay. I'm giving this responsibility to you". He then stood up and went inside the household.

I sighed. I stood up and began to walk around.

 I stared at the flower. 

What should I do? I'm being reincarnated when the story already started. I don't think after everything happened, Lady Yulliana will suddenly become friend with me. But, it's not like I can do anything about it. But, if I don't do anything, everyone will suffer.

Suddenly, I heard someone screaming.

"My lady! His Imperial Highness come to visit my lady." someone screamed at me.I turned around and it was a maid who screamed. 

" His Imperial Highness The Crown Prince?" I asked her. Even though I know it's The Crown Prince, I felt relieve a little. I don't know why.

"Yes! It's The Crown Prince. His highness is waiting at the front gate." answered the maid while pushed me slowly to hurry up.

"Hey, hey! You don't have to push me. I can walk by myself. And thank you for saying that to me." I said with a slow angry voice and thanked  her with a small smile.

"Ah, I'm sorry, my lady. Let me accompany you." apologised and offered her at the same time.

"Thank you." 

We walked to the front gate and finally saw The Crown Prince. As soon as I finally in front of him, I wanted to greet him but stop when he hug me. For some reason, I slowly hugged him back and get out from it. I then greet him.

"Eh, you don't have to be so formal with me. We're lovers." he said after I raised my head.

"I still have to be polite with you. You are The Crown Prince." I replied to him with a smile.

You know, since I reincarnated as Lady Deliah, I will marry this man; I mean, we literally a lovers now. But, I don't have any feelings towards The Crown Prince yet. So, I'm not sure. I just have to play along for a while.

"Well, thank you. Anyway, do you want to know what I will give for your birthday?" asked The Crown Prince while walking to The Orchid Garden with me.

For your information, Crown Prince, I do know what you will give to me. Since Lady Deliah's birthday will be in the autumn, you will give me a garden full of Dahlia flowers at The Imperial Palace.

"Of course, I want to know! I will wait until it's my birthday." I replied with an excitement tone and expression.

"I thought you cannot wait. That's good to know you learn how to be more patient." teased him.

"Hey hey. Did you really think that way of me?" I asked him with a slight smirk just to tease him back.

"Yes and no. Anyway, do you already plan on who you want to invite to your birthday?" denied him while fasting his steps after he saw a place for us to sit.

"I do have two people on mind. You, The Crown Prince and The Third Lady of Duke Harber." answered me, quickened my steps to catch up with him.

He then turned around, "Yulliana?! Why her? Did she threatened you to do so?" asked him with a caring tone but also raised his voice while holding both my shoulders.

You know, I kind of feel offended by his words.

 I let his hands off my shoulders gently. "Of course no! What is her intentions to do so anyway. It was my choice to invite her." I replied with a denying tone.

"But, why do you want to invite her? She might do something bad on the party." asked him, desperately.

"I want to be friend with her. And all those things she did to me, I already forgive her. I don't want to make our relationship worse than it already been." said me, determined with my own free will.

"But, I worry about you. How can you forgive after all she did? How can you be sure she won't do anything to you?" he said, worrily.

"I'm glad you're worry about me. But, who knows what Lady Yulliana really think when she did all that? I'm sure she doesn't have anyone to talk to if she have any problems. That's why I want to be that one person who willingly help her. You said it yourself, to become The Empress, I have to help every of my subjects!"

"I-I know that. But, you know, I just, I don't mean, like, you know-"

"I know what you mean. If Lady Yulliana didn't come, then it's her choice. But if she did come, I will take care of myself if she did any bad things. Though, I will still send the invitation letter." I intercepted his highness speech with a smile and hold his hands. 

He calmed himself. We then walked towards the tree and sat under it.

"You really want to invite her?" asked him to make sure my choice.

"Yes, I, Deliah Fredrick, really want to invite Lady Yulliana Harber to my birthday this year." said me, as if making an oath.

"I see. But in return, you have to do for me something. Is that okay for you?"

"Tell me what you want first. Then, I will say my answer."

"If Yulliana say she will come, I will not come. That is when you have to take care of yourself. Okay?"

Wow. He really don't like Lady Yulliana that much? Well then, I'll take that opportunity. Thank you, Crown Prince.

"Fine. I will have to take care of myself. I also cannot see you at that day." said me with a pitiful expression and tone.

"It's okay. Before the party, I will come and show my present for you. You don't have to worry about it. Okay?"

"If that is, I'm fine with that." answered me with a smile at the end.

"I'm glad you're fine with that."

"Of course! Anyway, Your Highness, do you want to make a bet?"

"Let's see. About what?" he seems interested in it.

"We make a bet whether I can or can't make a friendship relationship with Lady Yulliana in 6 months."

"You really want to be friend with her? Well then, I bet on the present I will give you."

"Wait what, no! You can't do that. You think you can take back what you give?"

"Ehh, I thought you were confident to be friend with her?"

"I- nah fine. We bet with that. I will be friend with her. You just have to wait and see."

"Okay. We deal with that."
