C A Z H V Y R E

AFTER SUCH HEARTFELT HUGS, EVERYBODY WAS DOING THEIR OWN THING, while I sat next to Regulus, sitting there watching everyone else and having trouble thinking of the best opportunity to address something to him.

"So, when do you think you'll have the confidence to give Sirius your gift?" I ask nonchalantly, shutting my eyes and savoring the bright sense of silence between us. I'm very sure he was simply tensing up beside me, pondering what to say. I found it amusing that I was already familiar with Regulus' manner.

He said, "He looks fantastic without any present from me," but then looked at me and asked, "Where's yours?" He was also searching for a gift that I had purchased for Sirius.

I just answered, "On his bed."

"You went to their room and placed your present there?" he mutters under his breath. "Well, it looks like you don't want to give it to him directly either. You should've informed me that so I can just do the same." He added.

"Well, it wouldn't be fun witnessing you clumsily hand yours to your brother," I smirk, opening my eyes and glancing at him. He gave me a sharp glare before rolling his eyes at me.

"Just wing it, Reg. Anything will do for Sirius, especially if it comes from you," I reassure him, patting his back firmly. He gave me a hesitant look before finally making up his mind. That took him longer than I expected.

He stands up and puts his hands on his pockets, clearly fiddling his gift to Sirius and rethinking his whole life up to this point. Yep, Regulus and I can be quite some thinkers. My gaze fell into James who was already looking at me with a wide grin plastered on his face, his eyes twinkling in the sight of me and messed up his already messy hair. I really think it was the smile at first that got me all hooked upon him and that stupid unruly hair was the one who made me stay, but I think his eyes will always be my favorite part of him. It makes me see the true him, vulnerable at times yet brave.

Regulus was already giving his gift to Sirius which is pretty obvious with the wide grin and shouts he voiced out in the open making everyone look at them. Regulus immediately almost regrets doing it but quietly also tries to make his brother shut up so they can talk privately.

I am really glad that it is working out well for both of them.

"They seem to mend their relationship as of this moment," James said as he sat down beside me.

"They are, although it might take a while to fully rebuild the trust as love never left the two," I reply, humming to myself as I fell into my own world.

"What are you thinking right now?" James asked as he realized that I was in a daze, clearly thinking about something.

"While looking at them, I also thought if my brother and I could be like that someday even though it is pretty impossible," I murmur to myself but I know that James heard me. His facial expression turns into a sad one before giving me a comforting smile.

"There's always hope, Cazh. You and your brother can also mend your relationship someday." He reassures me. I gave him a thankful smile before saying, "I hope so."

I really do hope so.

But I get this feeling that everything will be more difficult for us to mend what was already broken for a long time.

. . .

"So, I know that I have been pestering you with this repeated question but I got to ask. We are still going tomorrow, right?" James asked for about the ninth time this week. It is not like I am going to run but I guess he felt scared that this might all just be too good to be true. Honestly, I was also having the same dilemma.
