"As the mall's lead custodial engineer, I ensure that all retail establishments come equipped with the StoreSafe 250. This is the Cadillac of store gates." Martin, the guy Josh picked up, had not shut up.
Now, mind you, I really didn't mind him talking all the time, I myself couldn't bring myself to talk much at all. Just like that night in '78. Jennifer and I held each other's hands tightly as Martin gave us a rundown of everything-not that I paid much attention to, I already knew what I had to do, I didn't want the specifics or I'd begin to overthink it all.
"...Deena is the target now, so the killers will go after Deena's blood just like they did with Sam," Josh worded everything very easily, being the horror movie buff he was. "And then we use that to lure them into the stores, and then..." Martin closed the gate he'd opened.
"Welcome to the clink motherfucker." He said, and I rolled my eyes.
"The killers will be locked up, then it's only us left to finally kill Goode," Jennifer spoke up with a small smile. It creeped me out.
"Okay, sure, awesome, but then what? Like how do we takeout Goode?" Deena asked, bringing up a point that I had just begun to overthink about.
"A-are y'all serious about this?" Martin stuttered, and I rolled my eyes again.
"Serious as hell." My words were soaked in bitterness.
"Once they're down, how quickly can we get the gates back open?" Ziggy asked.
"Depends, but-"
"Why would we want to do that?" Deena cut Martin off.
"We'll Carrie him."
"There's that badass I knew." I couldn't help but grow a small smirk on my face when I heard those words come from Ziggy Berman's mouth.
Revenge is a dish best served cold, and Ziggy used to be known as a stone-cold bitch. She'd be getting that title back tonight.
