The night was spent with laughter and fun moments. Everything was perfect. Barry and I were running around making sure everything went smoothly. But over all it was beautiful. Lia and my dad were having fun. She really looked like she was enjoying the party. My dad and her thanked me multiple times through out the night. Everything was perfect. We are all currently sitting down and taking a breather.
"In all seriousness Lois, Kal. When are you giving us cousins." Barry asks he looks at me and Damian. I smile excited to hear her answer. "I think we have enough with you and Quinny." My Aunt Lois laughed. "We've talked about children and..." she shakes her head basically saying no kids. "Plus we will be busy helping Lucy raise our grandchildren children." She smiles brightly looking over at me and Damian. "And of course our little Nora." She smiles. "Mhmm I got worried there for a second. I was about to throw a fit thinking Lucy was your favorite." Barry rolls his eyes. Then he directed his attention towards Damian and me. "Damian, Quinny when are you planning to have kids." I look over at Damian with the biggest smile. "Dont tell me you already are... OH MY GOD YOURE PREGNANT." Barry yells. "Barry shut up." I hush him. "No I'm not pregnant. Damian and I were actually talking about it this morning and we decided to start trying." "Have you guys actually started trying ?" Iris asked wiggling her eyebrows. "No not yet but we will tonight." I wink at her. I look at Damian and he was giving cherries a run for their money. He's so cute when he acts innocent. Like he doesn't fucking rearrange my insides everytime we have sex. "Quinny." My uncle's say in union throwing a disgust face at me. "What it's not like you guys are virgins." I say and they all shut up. I felt a hand on my shoulder causing me to look up. "Quinny I need you here please I'm going to be making my speech. Well I need all of you." We all nod standing up and head towards the stage. We nod and make our way towards the stage. We stand there awkwardly not wanting to talk. Eventually we waited long enough standing there awkwardly so we decided to start a conversation while we waited for Lia and my dad to get on stage.
"Hello is this thing on?" My dad jokes. "Oh so the moment we decide to have a conversation he wants to start talking, thanks dad." I joke and my uncles start snickering. " Thank you all for joining us on celebrating my beautiful fiance Lia." He says and everyone claps. "She's probably one of the best things that has ever happened to me. Apart from my beautiful daughter Lucy." He points at me and I smile nervously. I wasn't expecting to get mentioned. "Happy birthday honey." He says and gives Lia a kiss on the cheek. "Now a word from the birthday girl." Everyone cheers again. "First of all thank you all so much for joining me. It really means a lot and most of all thank you Quinny for throwing me this amazing birthday party." She passed a fucking line. I hears my uncle kal clear his throat. I look up at him and smiled. Holy fuck I almost killed her. Damian also places his hand on my back gently rubbing up and down calming me down. I took a deep breath and smiled at Lia. She continued on with her speech and honestly it got really boring. I zoomed out and I know most of my family did too. We just clapped when everyone else was clapping but I was busy in my own world. "Thank you." She said before stepping away from the mic. The DJ started playing and people started dancing but my family and I stayed on the stage talking with each other. "I'll be right back. I have to use the bathroom." lia said to my dad he nodded and she went on her way. "This was a nice party." I said and everyone agreed. "One of the best ones you've done angel." He sold his arms around me. "Thank you babe." I leaned into his chest and he hugs me. "Thank you babe." Barry said in a mocking tone. I looked over at iris. "This is the man you chose to be the father of your children?" I joke. "To late to take it back now." She joked back and Barry acted offended. "That's right. We are forever baby." He says pointing at his ring in front of the face. Making us laugh. Damian leaned over to me. "I'm going to get a drink do you want anything?" He whispered in my ear. "Wine please." I practically begged. He laughed because he knew Lia stressed me out by calling me Quinny. He pulls me towards him and I giggle as a response, he gives me a passionate kiss on the lips before pulling away and looking into my eyes reassuring me I will be okay. I smile at him and nod. He gives me another kiss on the lips "I love you." "Forever?" I question with a smile. "Forever angel."he smiles brightly then walks away to go get our drink not before stopping at Barry. "Take care of her for me until I get back." "I won't take my eyes off of her. I promise. " Barry joked causing Damian to laugh. Damian patted Barry's chest before turning to look at me one last time with his beautiful green eyes. He threw me a wink before walking away. "Ugh get a room." Barry says causing me to laugh again. "We'll be right back." My uncle's say. I nod. "Keep an eye on your aunt for me please." My uncle kal says. "That offends me you know; that you don't think I'm always taking care of her." I roll my eyes at him. He chuckles and walks away. All my uncles go in different directions. I sit and talk to my aunts about random things and details about the party they really liked. Agreeing in most perspectives of the details. My uncles come back and smile at us. "Where did you guys go?" I asked as soon as they reached the stage. "We went to go get a drink." My uncle kal said showing up their drinks in their hands. Lia finally joined us again. "Did you see Damian?" I asked. "Yes he told me to give you your wine. He was talking to his father at the bar." I nodded my head at my uncle kal. We are all standing at the front of the stage conversing with each other with out backs towards the crowd when we hear gasps everywhere. We all quickly turned around when three man were coming foward carrying something. We all instantly got defensive ready for anything. I put my arm out pushing my aunt Lois back, and Barry pushing his wife out of the way.
Suddenly a body was thrown in front of the stage everyone's eyes went into panic mode. I felt my life slip out of my body. I fell to my knees as my eyes land on Damian's dead body in front of me. I couldn't scream, I couldn't talk, I couldn't move. It was like someone cut my vocal cords. I was frozen in place staring at Damian's body. My body went cold. I heard voices and screaming around me. I looked up and met three pairs of eyes I'll never forget. I felt being picked up and taken away. "No." I said softly. It all happened in a blink of a eye. I looked up again and saw the three men gone. All focus was on me as I was being carried away from the stage to protection.
"Lucy?" I hear my uncle kal at a distance. I'm pretty sure he's the one carrying me. As I'm being carried away my eyes were on Damian's lifeless eyes, his throat was slit. I started hyperventilating and no one could control me or calm me down. I felt alone. I felt a terrible feeling run through my body that I've never felt before. All I remember was looking up at my family while they stared down at me before darkness took over.
Before you say, why couldn't you use your powers to kill the people. Why couldn't Barry rush to get the bad guys. Why couldn't diana use her lasso to trap them. Why couldn't superman use any powers to protect his family. Or why Lucy couldn't use her powers. Just remember the world can't know who is its mightiest heroes are. Under moment like these.
