Chapter 22

Adam’s POV:

I walk out of the bathroom with a white towel wrapped securely on my hips. I glance at Christina who is getting herself ready for a dinner in our house tonight. She told me that the bassist is coming tonight and she’s gonna serve him dinner. Like, the bassist is our guest tonight. She’s the one who is eager to help me in all these things. She's very determined to help me in all these things. She helps me a lot in this and I appreciated it so damn much. She works a lot just to make me happy, just to let all my problems out. She’s an angel, a godsent for me to love me here.

I’m so lucky to have her.

“Ad, what are you looking at?” she notices me staring into her perfection. I look at her from her head to her toe, seeing every inch of her dress fits her perfect body. Damn, she’s perfect.

“You look so beautiful tonight,” I say as I walk towards her and wrap my arms around her waist. I can smell her perfume and she just tastes so sweet. I want her, I want her right now.

“I want you,” I whisper in her ears as she places her palms on my bare chest.

“Adam,” her red full lips curves a sexy smile and it turns me on.

“Adam, not now,” she grins and lightly shoves me away. “Get yourself ready now. I don’t want you to be late,” she says and smiles again.

“Okay, captain,” I smile back to her and nod quickly. I reach the shirt on the bed and button it on. I put my black jeans on and place the towel on the towel holder. As soon as I satisfied with myself, I walk out, following Christina to help her serves the dinner.

Ding dong!

The doorbell rings – there’s someone out there.

“Never mind, I’ll go get the door,” Amanda stands up from her chair and stops before I could make my way to the door. I sit back on my chair and watch her silhouette slowly disappears from my sight. She looks weird and that makes me wonder – why she gets so eager to get the door, huh?

“Darling, promise me, you will accept this guy as your bassist. You won’t let me down, right?” Christina squeezes my arms as she looks into my eyes. I smile as I see the glitter in her baby blue eyes, a beautiful glitter in her beautiful eyes and she’s beautiful.

“Mmhm. Okay, I promise,” I grip her chin and kiss her lips softly. She lets out a sexy grin.

I won’t let her down. I promise.

Amanda’s POV:

I turn the doorknob and it reveals Zack from outside. I smile brightly to him and grab his arm and pull him inside.

“You look so lovely,” he says with his eyes moving from my head to my toe.

“Thanks. You look gorgeous too,” I smile sheepishly as I can feel my cheeks started to blush. He’s wearing a plain black tee with a black leather jacket. There’s a bass case slinging securely on his back. He always dresses simple and smart and I always love it.

“Are you shaking?” I ask while grinning when my grip on his hand is tighter and I can feel a slight shake of his hand.

“Um, kinda. My stomach is twisting, nervous,” he expresses, but there’s still a smile curves on his handsome face. I can’t expect what dad will say seeing him again in this house. I hope he won’t chase Zack away. I really hope so.

“Dad won’t eat you, trust me,” I try to calm his nerve. “But please Zack, impress him with all your skill, please,” this time, I beg him. He needs to impress dad to get dad accept him as my boyfriend.

“You can count on me. I’m a school bassist,” he sounds like bragging in the mix of teasing, trying not to sound so serious even he’s nervous. I smile as he lets out a cute grin.

“Um, so let’s go,” I pull his hand towards the kitchen but then he pulls me back.

“Wait, wait, do I look nice?” he points at his face and hair. I take a look at him.

“You don’t look nice, you’re just…perfect,” I say, stretching my smile longer. He takes a deep breath and follows my lead to the dining room.

Dad must like him. Dad must like him. Dad must like him. I pray as our steps come closer.

“Mom, dad, here, meet Zack,” I introduce him to mom and dad, like they just met for the first time.

My first person I look is dad. His jaws fell, shocked. Dad stares sharply into Zack and he’s killing me so much inside. Zack tries to smile his nerve away, but it never fades dad’s evil stare. With dad like that, I don’t know what else to do. I am in a deep guilt.

Please, dad, please.
