Chapter 23~

"Khushi yaar yeh lights fan sab bandh kiyu hogayi achanak se?"Rishabh asked while walking into the dark livingroom.

Khushi came from behind and said,"paas waale raaste pe electric ka kaam chal raha tha subha se. Toh lights thi bhi nahi. Invertor ka bhi battery down hogayi hain abhi dinbhar chalte chalte!"

Rishabh turned towards her and shrieked as she was holding the torch towards her face, which was making her look like a ghost.

"Yeh aise kaun torch pakarta hain? Thik se pakro!"Rishabh said adjusting the torch in her hand.

"Aap itne si hi darr gaye?"Khushi asked while giggling.

"Haso matt!"he commanded.

"Okay!"Khushi said and giggled again.

"Aye tum ghar jao!"Rishabh said taking the torch from her.

"Jaungi thodi der mein hi. Darpok thorei na hoon main yaha khade kisi aur ki tarha!"Khushi boasted.

"Darpok kisko bola tumne?"Rishabh said.

"Aapko!"

"Main darpok? Darpok hoga tumhara sasoor!"

"Haan aapka...."Khushi went to say about Rishabh's Dad but stopped herself.

"Mera kya?"

"Kuch nahi!"

"Nahi finish karo!"

"Areh kuch nahi baba!"

"Kuch toh hain!"

"Haan hain! Aapke piche khada hain!"the moment Khushi said this Rishabh jumped to the other side of the room shouting,"kya hain?"

He yelled so loudly that Casper woke up from his sleep and started barking. Khushi sat on the floor while laughing and Rishabh charged towards her saying,"I'll break your bones today!"

Khushi stood up and started running around the room while Rishabh chased her breaking two three things due to darkness.
Khushi ran into his room and locked the door while he came and started hitting on the door.

"Aye Chhipkali! Open the door!"he commanded.

"No I won't! You will hit me otherwise,"Khushi said.

"Yes I will hit you and make you a cricket ball!"Rishabh said.

"Pata hain mujhe! Saare ladke ek jaise hote hain. Sab maarte hain mujhe,"Khushi said and Rishabh became quiet.

"Tumne sachme socha ki I'll hit you hard?"he asked.

Khushi remained quiet for a moment and replied,"pata nahi! Baba sa se lekar bhai sa tak sabse piti hui hoon. Parr Sumedh ne nahi maara kabhi. Aap bhi nahi maroge shayad."

She opened the door saying these and Rishabh asked,"yeh Sumedh kaun hain?"

"Dost hain Jaipur wala!"Khushi replied while Rishabh held her ear.

"Ayeeee! Aap bhi pitoge mujhe? Bishwasghati ho aap!"

Rishabh giggled and said,"aur mazak urayegi?"

"Nahi na! Pakka!"

"Promise karr light aane se pehele nahi jayegi!"

"Nahi jaungi! Nahi jaungi!"

"Chal thik hain!"Rishabh left her ear.

They lit up candles around the room and sat at the centre, and Rishabh took Casper on his lap.

"Pata hain! it's strange that after so many years I am sitting in darkness like this,"he said.
