Chapter 18~

"Again you're following that new diet plan?"Rishabh said when Khushi kept down his breakfast platter on the table.

"This is best diet for you right now according to the nutritionist,"Khushi said while standing beside him.

"Tum sudhrogi nahi na?"

"Nahi! It's my job!"

"Again!"Rishabh muttered and then sighed. He started eating and Khushi also sighed in relief. Suddenly he remembered something and said while eating,"Sama Bhabi was saying that you lost your first job because of me! Really?"

Khushi said,"not really. It's because of the low thinking of my boss. I just protested against him when he was saying wrong things about you."

Rishabh stopped eating and looked at her while asking,"what did he said?"

"Ki you're egoistic and you don't have manners, you don't know how to behave and you misbehave with your fans too!"Khushi stated in brief.

"Toh sahi hi toh bola. I am like that only. Bekar mein apna job gawa diya bewakoof ladki!"Rishabh said and started eating again.

"No not at all! You have become like that recently because you have been through a traumatic incident. Aap pehele aise thorei na theh! You're in pain, that's why you behave like that,"Khushi said.

Rishabh looked at her again and then mocked her saying,"accha? So you understand this also? How? Have you ever been through the similar phase as mine, that you can understand my pain?"

"Not similar pain, but I have seen much more in my life than you have!"Khushi stated looking down.

"Accha! Toh kya kya face kiya hain mohotarma ne, zara hum bhi suneh,"Rishabh said while leaning backwards on his chair.

Khushi sighed and remembered that she was asked by Sama and Shreya to open up and approach Rishabh as a friend. Hence she replied,"I have been under the pressure and tortures of a patriarchal society."

She folded up her sleeves and showed him a burnt mark above her elbow and said,"reason why I can never wear short sleeves or complete sleeveless outfits. Off shoulder bhi pehenti hoon toh yeh jagah dhaknewala dress leti hoon. Warna log pucchenge ki yeh jalne ka daag kaisa. Aur jhoot bolna parega. Nahi bol sakti ki mere cousin bhai ne jalaya tha uske battamizi ke khilaaf bolne parr."

She held up her long skirt a bit above her ankle and showed a long stitch mark on her leg and said,"nahi bata sakti kisi ko yeh meri hi Papa ki di huyi ghaav hain, football khelne gayi thi bachpan mein ladko ke saath. Rishabh sat straight on seeing those marks and hearing to Khushi who went on saying,"haan aapke jaise apne beloved ko nahi khoya hain maine but apne Maa se chhup chhup ke baatein karni parti hain. Mann kare toh bhi milne nahi jaa sakti. Agar gayi toh wapas nahi aah paungi. Pakad ke shaadi karwa diya jayega yah phir maar hi daalenge. Ghar se bhaag ke aayi hu na apne hisse ki khushi paane ke liye. Aapke paas apke apne hain, apna ek accha career hain, rehene ka thikana hain, khane peene ka chinta nahi hain. Yaha hum jaise log harr roz sangharsh karte hain Sir. Aap voluntarily akele rehena chahate ho jabki aapse pyaar karnewale aur aapke khyal rakhne walon ki kami nahi hain, aur yaha mujhe akele rehena parrta hain ek anjaan sheher mein anjaan logon ke bich mein, phir bhi apni marzi se apne maa se, apne badi behen se, apni dosto se baat nahi karr sakti. Kahi pakdi gayi toh? Haan shayad yeh dard nahi hain, shayad aapka dard mere dard se bada ho. Parr haan, agar akelepan ki baat kare, toh yaha dum dono mein se sabse zyada akela aur haalat se majboor insaan main hi hoon!"

Khushi looked away wiping her tears and started moving towards the kitchen when Rishabh stopped her saying,"ruko! baitho idhar!"and he patted on the chair next to him. Khushi looked back in shock and saw him gesturing her to sit down again and she took the seat beside him.
