🌟Chapter 03 : The Holy Tree - Sacred Rings And Weapons🌙

"What are you doing here?"

Dream asked softly, Nightmare was going to answer but Blue interupted,

"I know, you want to destroy the tree, right?!"

Dream sighed and looked at Blue, "Blue please."

"But Dream-"

"Just- let them tell us about what they're doing here themselves."

Blue let out a long sigh, "Fine.."

Dream looked back at his brother, "So, what are you doing here..?" Nightmare stared at him for a few while before he finally replied honestly,

"We have fought the Pinnacles just a few minutes ago in a world of tree roots."

Dream and his friends widened their eyes at what Nightmare said. Error walked closer to Nightmare and stood beside him, "and what are you idiots doing here?" Error asked. Ink flinched when Error speaks up,

"How is that possible, we didn't see you in the wolrd of tree roots when we fought the Pinnacles."

Ink said. Nightmare crossed his arms,

"You fought them, too?" He asked. Dream nodded his head,

"Just a few minutes ago, there was an earthquake and then tree roots came out of everywhere and then the world changed in a blink. And then we fought the Pinnacles. How come we did not notice your team, Brother?" Dream said. Nightmare narrowed his eye after being called Brother by Dream but he ignored that. There's no time for that.

"Well maybe because you are too busy fighting them so you don't notice us there." Cross said. Nightmare nodded, agreeing to Cross. Dream hummed, thinking position. Then he looked up at the tree,

"...why did it come to this?" Dream asked. Nightmare didn't reply him as he also looked up at the tree and everyone followed their gaze up. The wind still blowing softly, the leaves of the tree danced in the air. Horror looked away from the tree and spotted someone is walking towards the nine of them, he stared at the person. Dust looked at Horror, "What's wrong, H?" His question gets everyone's attention to Horror. Horror replied by pointing his finger at the human walking towards them, then everyone looks at the human.

A human girl with balck short hair, purple eyes, she wears a dark purple turtle-neck with long sleeves - there are bandanges wrapped around her right arm, a light purple sleeveless torso, a red thin ribbon on her chest with a moon pin, she wears a pair of dark purple jeans, white ribbons on the back of her waist and a pair of purple shoes. Ink, Dust and Horror recognize the human girl, she was the one who told them about the Pinnacles. She stopped her steps once she's close enough with the nine of them. Then she kneel down, putting one of her hand on the chest as she speaks,

"Greetings, esteemed protectors."

Dream and Nightmare walked closer to her. Nightmare asked, "Who are you?"

The human girl looks up at them with a soft smile, "My name is Nazma Grace Lambert. I'm a Priestess that serves the Holy Tree. I believe that your team had just defeated the Pinnacle in the Holy Tree's Barrier and revert in this place, where the Holy Tree is."

Dream smiled and bows down a bit before standing straight again, "Pleasure to meet you, Ms. Lambert. My name is Dream, the Guardian of Positive Feelings. Yes, we have just defeated the Pinnacles. So the world we just went to were the Holy Tree's Barrier? Can you explain in more detail?"

Nazma nodded her head, "Yes." She stood up straight and began explaining in more detail.

"The tree behind you is the Holy Tree. It is the source of life in this world, and the God of this land," Everyone looked up at the tree, "A god?" Dream asked. "Yes. All of you have been choosen by the Holy Tree to be the protectors of the tree and this world, to protect it from the viruses outside of the defensive barrier. That is, the Pinnacles."

Everyone looked back at Nazma, "I am aware that you, esteemed protectors, are not from this world originally, but all of you have been staying here for the past few years and you already considered this world as your home. The Holy Tree knew that all of you posses such incredible prowess and potential, that's why it chooses all of you to be the protectors of this world."

"Protect this world... I'm sorry, but that's not what we usually do." Nightmare spoke, Dream and Nazma looked at Nightmare.

"Yes. But deep down, you want to protect this world from the Pinnacles, because you have grown fond of this place and you have made your own Kingdom since two years ago. Isn't that right, King Nightmare? That's why the Holy Tree chooses you and your team." Nazma said. Wait, Nightmare didn't even throw his name. Nightmare stayed silent as he looked away. Yeah, she's right. Deep down he does feels that way.

"I am well aware that both of your teams are supposedly enemies. But, since the Holy Tree chooses your team, like it or not you'll have to fight together."

"Like it or not... it's like you're forcing us." Error spoked, Nazma shook her head.

"It's your decision. If you don't want to, we won't force you." Nazma walked past Nightmare and Dream, then their teammates as she stood in front of the tree. Her eyes looked at the bushes, there a lot of flowers in the bushes. Nazma took two of the flowers; Solomon's Seal and Marigold. Nazma turned around to look at Dream, Nightmare and their team, showing them the flowers, three on her right hand, six on her left hand. All of them looked at the flowers. Then, all of the flowers shines brightly and then it transformed into beautiful flower rings.

"King Nightmare & Dream, take these and wear it." Nazma said. Dream walked towards her, while Nightmare stood there still, seemingly mulling it over. Dream stopped his steps and looked at Nightmare. After a minute, Nightmare huffs and walked towards Nazma along with Dream. Dream took the Marigold rings and Nightmare took the Solomon's Seal ring.

Dream put the Marigold ring in his left hand ring-finger, then he walked towards Ink and Blue. Dream looked at his brother and his team. Nightmare stare at the ring for a few while before he took the ring and put it in his left hand-finger. Then he walked back to his team. All of them turned to look at Nazma and she was smiling.

"Those are Seinaru Yubiwa, the Holy Tree's sacred rings. It will give you new weapons." Nazma said.

"New weapons?" Nightmare asked.

Nazma didn't reply as she just smiled. Then she interwined her hands, clapping three times slowly as she began to spoke some words - the prayers,

"Oh blessed Holy Tree, creator of these lands, ruler of this world, we beseech you now. Hear our prayers, offered unto you."

As Nazma spoke the prayers, the rings in their fingers starting to glow as everyone looked at their own rings. And then, colorful lights appeared in front Dream and Nightmare, forming different shapes. They can't tell what are those since the bright lights covered them. Once the lights disappeared, two wooden staff appeared in front of them.

Dream took the staff in front of him, a wooden staff with a star-shapped crystal above it, the wooden handle are slightly covered by tiny Marigold flowers. Nightmare held the staff in front of him, a wooden staff with a moon-shapped crystal above it, the wooden handle are slightly covered by tiny Solomon's Seal flowers.

"The Holy Tree bestowed you with those staff. It is your choice to use it or not." Nazma said.

Dream nodded his head smiled, "Thank you for these staff, we will protect this world from the Pinnacle to the best of oyr ability." Nightmare looked at Dream, narrowing his eye slightly. Then he looked back at Nazma, she smiled and interntwined her hands, bowing down at them,

"I wish you good luck and I will pray for your safety, Esteemed Protectors."
