Chapter 8: Gone...Again

Flashback

Anthony's POV

I'm sitting in my recovery room... I'm alone. I don't want to be alone. It's dark outside. My heart is racing. I was so dizzy I felt like I could pass out at any moment. My head is killing me.  I grip onto the sheet unable to breathe. Tears drip down my face. My head hurts so bad its unbearable. My eyes are closed. I feel something touch my shoulder. I hear a familiar voice shush me in a calming and soothing way. The person hugs me tight. I'm breathing harder that ever. But I feel better knowing someone is with me. 

"Shh, it's alright papa." The person says. 

I open my eyes and look up. It's my mother.

 "Ma." I say quietly. 

"Si bebe soy yo." She rubs my back and hugs me tight. 

I just hug her back. 

Carleigh's POV

I wake up feeling terrible, like if I am Daveed I'd be cursing non-stop terrible. My whole body is sore. I feel like I've been hit by 5 trucks at once. Yesterday I found out that my legs are shattered and My lung collapsed and I may not make it. Great, just great, my Broadway dreams, crushed like my legs. Whyyy does this have to happen. I really don't want the spend the little time we have left in life sitting in a hospital bed not moving. *Sigh* Whoever did this I hope the cops find you and put you in jail. And I hope you rot in a tiny little cell with a cellmate that has anger issues and will beat you up. Yes. I said that, and I mean it! That's my death wish.

Reporter 1 -

Now back to the mysterious building collapse that happened almost 3 weeks ago, Police say that surveillance camera footage has led them to the suspect, they finally found him. Jaryll Parker has been identified as the maniac behind this collapse. 

Police 

We were on this case for a while now. It is a relief to finally find the suspect, he is in custody. The family and friends of the killed victims are happy that we found him.

Reporter 1 -

Yes that is lovely news to hear. The suspect will be held in court next week.

Lin speaking

So I was extremely happy to hear that the suspect was found. That was one good thing that happened. But then things took a turn for the worse again, the next day. (Sighs) 

Flashback 

Johnathon's POV

So I'm sharing a dressing room with Lin. It's like a hotel room kinda. Not that that big, but spacious. I am watching Netflix and my phone starts ringing. It's an unknown contact. I'm scared but I answer.

"Hello?" I say shakily. 

"Hello is this Johnathon Groff." a woman says. 

"Yes it is I." Sweating and barely breathing I listen to what she has to say next.

"Um so we have a bit of bad news. Your friend Carleigh, who was a part off the collapse, she has sadly died from her injuries." The doctor says. 

My jaw dropped.

"O-okay thank you." 

I hang up.

"What the hell?!" I say.

Lin looks back at me. 

"Groffsauce?" he says.

"Carls, she-she's gone." 

"WHAT!!!!" he screeches.

"The doctor called me. Said she died 'cause off the injuries." I sob. 

Lin almost passed out when he heard that. 

"Bu-, Wha- WHY?!" He pants. 

"I-I don't know" I cry. 

"But I just saw her last night, she couldn't couldn't breathe, and she was awake one minute and then passed out the other minute, but... I didn't expect her to go that quick." Lin sobs into my shoulder.

 "I know, I know. She fought as long as she could baby." I comfort him.
