Once we got down to the coast guard we tried talking to someone but no one paid us any attention.
"Welp. So glad they listened to us." I sighed as I crossed my arms.
"So, what's the plan?" JJ leaned on John B.
"I think I know how we're gonna find the guy who owns the boat." My brother held the room key in his hand.
We pulled up to the abandoned motel and automatically all I could think about was the possible crackheads inside.
"Whooo! This place is a shit show." My brother whistled.
"Motel or meth lab?" Kie scrunched her nose.
"Seriously. I can't imagine all the drugs we're about to find." I stood up as JJ anchored the boat in.
John B turned his head as he steered the boat. "Oh no. You're not going inside there. You get to stay with Kie and Pope."
"Absolutely not! I'm a grown woman." I rolled my eyes.
"Sorry baby bird. You need to stay." JJ pointed as he finished tying the anchor.
I jumped off the boat and waited on the grass with my hands on my hips. "Listen here Maybank, you don't get to tell me what to do and you aren't my dad bird. I'm going."
Kie stood in front of John B before he got off. "Uh, be careful. I mean it." She handed him the key while JJ and I glanced at each other.
"Come on!" John B hit both of us on the back of our heads. I put my hands up in defense as we started walking.
JJ and my brother walked ahead of me. I walked slowly behind them making sure no one else was here.
"Just be so careful,John." JJ grabbed his jaw.
"God, you're so weird." My brother pushed him off of him.
"What the heck was that about?" JJ asked as he threw his hands at his side.
"I don't know. Maybe she just wants us to be careful." John B defended.
"John B, girls don't act that way unless they like you." I shook my head at their stupidity.
"Since she heard you're being threatened with exile, shems just been, like, 'oh! Be so careful, John B'." JJ massaged his shoulders. "Give me that John D already'. When are you gonna swoop on that,man?"
