Take a deep breath, Vic. This is only to help Kellin. You have to do what you have to do in order to get rid of that dick head, Josh. I step out of my car and walk up the path leading to Josh's house. I had to do a lot of digging in order to get his address. I'm totally not a stalker or anything... ha ha.... what?
Anyway, I have to do this, so I might as well get this over with. Finally pulling myself together, I ring the door bell and take a step back, waiting nervously on his doorstep. It takes a minute but I finally hear the loud footsteps of someone running down the stairs to open the door. Finally, the door opens and the fucker himself opens the door. At first Josh looks a little surprised, then he gains a cool composer. "Hey Vic, what brings you here?"
I put on a fake smile and reply, "Just want to have a little talk, you know. Can I come in?" I say as politely as possible. Josh nods and steps aside to let me in, closing the door once I'm inside. The inside of Josh's house doesn't seem at all like I pictured it. What I had in mind wasn't all bad, just not as clean and traditional as it is. Hard wood floors, white carpet and drapes to match the walls that had a gold trim on them. It was surprisingly welcoming and upbeat.
"So, what is it that you want to talk about?" He asks sitting down. Oh yeah, I forgot I was supposed to carry out my plan.
"I want you to leave Kellin alone. He doesn't deserve the shit you're putting him through." I begin. "We can end this war before it even begins." Josh smiles taking a seat on his white couch.
"Oh, sweet, adorable, protective Victor. You've got to be kidding me." What? "I won't leave Kellin alone until you're mine. I doubt you're going to break up with him to be with me though, so this is my only option. Work until he breaks up with you."
I scoff. This kid is dumber than he looks! "Kellin wouldn't break up with me. He loves me. I love him. Simple as that."
"I'll admit, it's going to be hard to do. But I'll find a way. Trust me, Fuentes." Josh stands, moving closer to me until he's standing right in front of me then he leans down so his lips are near my ear."Unless you want to end this right now and call Kellin to tell him it's over. You love him right? Why are you going to put him through all this? Seems selfish." I push him away from me. He's starting to piss me off.
Instead of continuing this stupid conversation I turn to leave. My plan was to talk to him, man to man and get him off my back to hopefully get him to realize that I'm serious about Kellin. All this resulted in was him getting the upper hand and making me angry. Now I just have to hope the guys and I can come up with another prank to get this shit brick out of our hair.
Just a few more weeks until school ends. The only one that will still be around to at least try and help Kellin is Mike. And I know my little brother isn't the best at helping people, he keeps to his group of friends and stays unnoticed. Which means, I have to do all I can do to make Josh stop targeting Kellin.
I haven't spent the day, just me and Kellin in a while. So I might as well spend the rest of tonight with him. After taking a shower and getting dressed, I head into the kitchen to find my mom making dinner. "Victor, what are you doing dressed? Dinner is going to be ready soon." I give her quick kiss on the cheek.
"Oh, I'm not going to be here for dinner. I'm going to Kellin's house. Probably going to spend the night too." I smile thinking about holding Kellin in my arms as he falls asleep. Being near him is the best feeling in the world.
She gives me the look that all mothers give their children when they pass up dinner. "Okay... You better eat over there then. Be careful." She says and I give her another kiss before grabbing my keys off of the counter and practically running out the door. I think I'm more than excited to see him right now.
Traffic was normal, thankfully and I was able to drive to Kellin's place in no time. His mom opens the door, happy as ever to see me. Hugging me, she says that Kellin is in his room doing homework.
"Did someone call for a genius?" I ask as I walk into his room. Kellin is on his bed with a pencil in his hand staring at a text book and writing notes while listening to music. But as soon as he hears my voice he drops everything to look at me. He gives me a simple smile before returning to his homework. That's odd though, he'd usually run and give me a hug... huh?
"Trig? My boyfriend is smarter than me? Well shit..." I joke sitting on the bed, trying to give him a quick kiss but he moves away. "Hey... Kells what's wrong?"
He sighs, "Vic. I'm sorry." He begins and my heart drops. Just from hearing those three words, I can tell this isn't going to end well. "I can't take the stress. I appreciate that you've tried as hard as you've had now. But Josh is just going to keep on. He's not going to stop until he has you. I might as well just let him have you." His voice cracks towards the end and I see him wipe his eyes before sniffling. Kellin doesn't look at me.
"Baby..." He's not supposed to give up because things get tough. "We can work through this. You only have to go through a few more weeks until Josh will give up. He can't bother you in the summer. Don't do this... Please." I beg him. "I love you," I don't care how desperate I sound. I refuse to lose him.
"I'm sorry, Vic." He repeats before getting up and running out of the room. I hear his mom ask him what's wrong, followed by the sound of the bathroom door slamming.
