Chapter 10

You knew all about this!?" I rage, turning my attention to Mr. Sykes. I knew that Josh was in on all this, but Oliver? Now I know something must be going on between the two of them. Either that, or they're turning their hatred of me onto Kellin, which would require me to kick both of their asses. 

Mr. Sykes smirks and looks at Josh, who then begins to speak. "You see, Vic." He begins, but I put a hand up to stop him.

"No one told you to fucking speak." I spit, then turn my attention back to Mr. Sykes. "I could seriously get your ass fired for what you're doing right now." Instead of backing down, he smiles.

Mr. Sykes begins to shake his head and chuckle. "It's not that simple, Victor. Bring this to Kellin's mom, and she'll have to bring it to the school board, who will then investigate. Funny thing about all this is that you don't have any evidence and everything that you say can be denied by Josh. Get it?" Holy shit! Are you kidding me? There has to be a way I could stop this all from happening.

Instead of arguing, because obviously I won't get anywhere doing that, I start to pry for information, "What are your intentions with Kellin anyway?" 

Josh steps forward a little when he notices that Mr. Sykes is about to speak. "Easy. I want him gone."

"Why?" I say trying to suppress my anger. How could anyone want Kellin out of their lives. After all, he's the best person in the world, all his friends even say it. 

"No particular reason." He says slyly, looking down at his nails. There's a motive behind this, there always is, however, it looks like I'm not going to find it out right now. Ugh! This is so damn frustrating. How am I going to get anywhere like this? 

Mr. Sykes walks over to his desk and looks at me then points to the door. "Now, get out of my office. Tell anyone about this and I will personally make your life a living hell, Fuentes." I silently seethe but reluctantly walk out of the room. 

I drive home about twenty miles above the speed limit. Who gives a damn if I get pulled over? Mike does, sadly and he's been yelling for me to slow the fuck down for the past ten minutes. "Where are we going anyway? We just pasted the house!" He complains. I don't say anything, I just grip the wheel tighter. I was planning on going over to Kellin's house and telling him about all this. Screw what that British bastard said.

Mike looks out the window some more and realizes where we're going, finally. "Why are we going to his house?" He asks.

"Do you have a problem with it?" I snap, catching Mike by surprise.

"Damn, who pissed in your cereal this morning?" He mutters under his breath. When we get to a stop light, I slam on the breaks, hard. I do this mostly by accident, mainly because I'm angry. "What the hell is your problem, Vic!" Mike yells, completely done with my crap.

"I know exactly what's going on with Kellin and I can't do anything about it, okay!" I admit. I was frustrated that I couldn't help him out. Even if I told him, who are we going to go to? His mom is still iffy about the whole drug bust, and the police won't listen to me after all the shit I've done in the past. Although I'm mad at the fact, I'm actually pretty scared. If I can't protect Kellin from all this, who will?

Mike shakes his head. "Listen, calm the fuck down, first of all. Second, think for once. And yes, this is coming from me. Think about what you're going to do. Don't just give up because you can't come up with a plan right off the bat. Damn, I've seen you stay up all night working out the kinks in all of your lame pranks, so don't say you can't help Kellin." Well shit. I never thought I'd be getting a lecture like that from Mike.

I take a deep breath, exhaling slowly. "Okay, I guess you're right. I'll think this through, get some help from the squad, maybe Austin, I don't know." I run a hand through my hair. I really need to calm down, and thanks to Mike I see that.
