You splashed some cold water on your face in the bathroom. Halie handed you a paper towel as you spoke. "God, I'm so sorry you got stuck being roommates with a total nutjob." You huffed as you threw the paper towel in the trash bin before giving a frustrated groan.
"What? You're not nuts. I've seen nuts, alright? You're not!" Halie reasoned with you.
You shook your head, focusing on the wall as you covered your mouth with your hand. You put your hand down as you mumbled. "I wouldn't be too sure about that...I saw fucking Billy Loomis."
Cici raised a brow as she put on her lip gloss. "Uh...The guy from Woodsboro?"
"Yes…"
She gave you a smile and huffed. Rolling the gloss on her lips before speaking. "Well sweety, that's impossible. I mean, even if he lived through that fire he'd look like Freddy Krueger."
You rubbed your temples. "I know, I know!...But this was Billy. I was good friends with him for almost an entire year. Saw him every day of my life, even on weekends...It was Billy."
Halie gave you a sympathetic look and placed a hand on your shoulder. "Okay, look at me." You did as she slowly talked you through it. "Maybe, hear me out, you're under a lot of stress...New school, first time away from home, dealing with anxiety. Okay? Plenty of guys probably look similar. You saw one and your brain made you think it was him and made you panic."
You licked your lips, swallowed but nodded slowly.
Cici chimed in. "Seriously, you went through Hell. You're bound to have some leftover trauma."
Halie added. "Even people without trauma deal with this. It's just your imagination playing tricks on you."
"Yeah…" You nodded to yourself and gave Halie a forced smile. "Yeah okay. I just need a few minutes." You excused yourself to the bathroom stall as the girls talked amongst themselves. Cici called over to you. "By the way, Derek is single!"
You faltered, face resting in your hands to shoot up and say something but they laughed with each other and walked out. Halie called over to you. "YN, I'll be right outside waiting in the hall, okay?"
"Okay, I'll be out soon. Just need a minute."
You heard her leave and rubbed your face. You knew what you saw. You hadn't hallucinated not even once and you hadn't been on any medication. But Cici was right...There was no way.
You heard walking in the bathroom and someone started knocking on your stall. "Sorry, I'll be out." You voiced, standing up and preparing to exit when the knocking got faster and louder. "Uh, in a second. Hold on!" It turned into banging. You rolled your eyes. "There are three other stalls! Maybe I'll just stay here longer so you can kiss-"
You jumped when it started rattling off its hinges. You were wide eyed, looking down and covering your mouth as you saw mens black boots twice your size. The door started being shoved as if they were trying to break it off its hinges. You screamed to the top of your lungs for Halie as your back hit the wall behind you.
...It suddenly stopped. You saw the boots and shadow gone as Halie and the girls rushed in. She quickly banged on your door. "YN! What happened? Open up!"
You jerked the door open before rushing past them and shoving the other stalls open one by one just to find nothing. You shakily stepped back, covering your mouth as the girls looked between each other.
Halie touched your shoulder. "Honey, what's wrong?"
"I...I-" You tried to calm down realizing you couldn't tell them what you saw...It wasn't logically possible. "I saw...A spider." You mumbled.
