Prepare The Way For The LORD

PREPARE THE WAY FOR THE LORD

This is who was spoken of through the prophet Isaiah:
"A voice of one calling in the desert,
'Prepare the way for the Lord,
make straight paths for him.' "
[Matthew 3:3]

Sino ba namang hindi nakakakilala sa taong ito?
John the Baptist-the one who prepares the way for the Lord (Read Matthew 3:13)

Si John the Baptist ba ay mayaman? Nakatira sa magandang bahay? Suot ay magagarang damit? At masasarap na pagkain ang kinakain?

Hindi.

In Matthew 3:4
John's clothes were made of camel's hair, and he had a leather belt around his waist. His food was locusts and wild honey.

John is a simple man chosen by God to prepare a way for his son, Jesus.

How did John prepare the way for the Lord?

He baptized the people with water for repentance. (See Matt. 3:11)

At dun nagsimula ang pagbibinyag. Bininyagan tayo, at the same time, to admit that we are a sinner and we need a savior.

John baptized the people with water. But Jesus baptizes us with the Holy Spirit and fire. (Matt. 3:11)

If we have the Holy Spirit, Madali nalang nating malabanan ang evil.

As a Christian and a children of God, how can we prepare a way for the Lord??

Isipin nyong mabuti. Sagutin nyo ang tanong (comment nyo yung sagot nyo)

Pano? Eh isa lang naman akong ordinaryong tao? Di ako mayaman, anu ba ang kaya kong gawin?

Uulitin ko, HOW CAN YOU PREPARE THE WAY FOR THE LORD now that he is near?

To prepare the way for the Lord, we must:

-- PRAY

"Pray that you will not fall into temptation." [Luke 22:40]

Repent of this wickedness and pray to the Lord. Perhaps he will forgive you for having such a thought in your heart. [Acts 8:22]

Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, faithful in prayer. Romans 12:12

Pray, Madali lang kung iisipin. Pero to pray wholeheartedly is another story.

In our journey in preparing God's way, maraming barriers, maraming hindrances, such as our weakness, temptations, etc. so, in praying, dapat mag-ingat din tayo.

"Don't limit your prayer, because the evil knows that your prayer will limit him."

Tsaka, di lang dapat sarili mo pinagpe-pray mo. Pati narin pamilya mo, relatives, friends, your community, nation and the whole world.

(Romans 12:12) Be patient, yung mga hardships na yan, malalampasan rin natin yan. Be joyful and devoted when praying to God.

Next is to:

-- REPENT

From that time Jesus began to preach, "Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is near." [Matthew 4:17]

Peter replied, "Repent and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins. And you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. [Acts 3:19]

Repent, then, and turn to God, so that your sins may be wiped out, that times of refreshing may come from the Lord. [Acts 3:19]

Repent, what does it mean?

It is that you feel sorry for something bad that you did and want to change and do what is right.

Pagsisihan natin yung mga ginawa nating mali, kasalanan.

And lastly, di lang dapat tayo magsisi.. we must
-- DO AN ACTION

In the same way, faith by itself, if it is not accompanied by action, is dead. [James 2:17]

You see that his faith and his actions were working together, and his faith was made complete by what he did. [James 2:22]

Therefore, prepare your minds for action, be self-controlled; set your hope fully on the grace to be given when Jesus Christ is revealed. [1 Peter 1:13]

Be careful with your action. You are the walking bible read by your friends. Sa action mo, mababasa nila ang nais iparating ni God.

Example, ACTS 20:35 'IT IS MORE BLESSED TO GIVE THAN TO RECEIVE."

So, as a Christian, we will give wholeheartedly, and then the people will see you. Explain it to them and let them follow what you do.

Syempre, if we just pray and believe, wala tayong magagawa. Diu dapat natin iasa lahat kay God. Dapat tayo ay kumikilos rin.

In action, dapat magbago din tayo. Kasi, di natin magagawa and isang bagay kung di natin babaguhin ang ating pananaw at aalisin ang katamaran.

To sum up,
We must prepare the way for the Lord for he is near.
In order to do this, we must PRAY, REPENT and DO AN ACTION.

PRAYER
Lord, I know that you are near and the end is near. Please help me to prepare a way for you Jesus and lead me as I do the work. Thank you Lord. I love you. In the name of Jesus, Amen.
