Third-person POV
It's another night, as usual, Yeji sitting at the outside of their small meetup place, waiting for Chaeryeong to come over.

Time went by quickly after, Chaeryeong did not show up. Yeji felt a little impatient, but she still decided to wait for a little bit, she might come in any minute soon, it may be worth waiting a little longer.

As the cold wind hits her, she trembled a little. Yeji waited for the younger for more than two and a half hours already. Usually, Chaeryeong would always come in time, but she didn't even show up this time.

The elder got worried. What could happen to her? Is Ryujin hurting her or something? She stood up and climbed down on the ladder to get back on the ground.

Yeji decided to check on Chaeryeong, which of course, will be risking her life. If she end up meeting Ryujin or her men, she would be so dead, knowing herself she had already escaped from them, twice.

She walks along the street, it wasn't a quiet night. Baby crying, kids playing, running around and giggling, some other people were talking, gossiping... Yeji could hear some whispers, but she didn't mind about them much.

As soon as she reached the end of the street, the house where Chaeryeong is living is just right opposite her.

Lifting her head, she saw a room that has lights on, the curtains weren't fully closed. She squinted her eyes, hoping she could see a little clearer. A girl appeared, but what's facing Yeji was her back. Though she can't see the girl's face, the elder could still recognize it's Chaeryeong.

The corner of her lips curved up, but it soon faded away in an instant when she noticed Ryujin is in her room too. Chaeryeong lifted her hands to protect her head, Ryujin gave no mercy and laid a hard slap on Chaeryeong's cheek, pushing her harshly, making the poor girl fall.

Yeji frowned. She couldn't believe what she's seeing right now. Why would Ryujin do this to her? Chaeryeong doesn't deserve this at all, she deserved to be loved. Not getting pushed and slapped by some wicked ass, having bruises and wounds everywhere.

She clenched her fists tightly, eyebrows creased at the sight of Chaeryeong getting abused.

But she couldn't do anything.

Yeji knew, if Ryujin knows that they have connections and that they meet up every night, both of them, Yeji and Chaeryeong, would be in so much trouble, probably be dead. That's why Yeji can't do anything, she could only hide behind a wall of a building, watching as Ryujin hitting Chaeryeong, again and again.

Soon, Ryujin left Chaeryeong alone in the younger girl's room. Chaeryeong sat down on her chair in front of a desk, and she cried. Hands covering her face, tears streamed down rapidly. She suffered a lot.

Yeji sneakily ran to their house when she saw no one's around. There were crates and boxes at the side, which she walked towards it and climbed up on them, carefully. She would never hope to make any sounds that could lead her to get caught by Ryujin.

"Ugh..." she groaned when she climbed up the roof. Yeji's hand held onto the pipes that were on the wall, tiptoeing her way to the window of Chaeryeong's room. She gently knocked on the window, which Chaeryeong flinched.

"Y-Yeji...?" the younger whispered in confusion, her hands wiping the tears away.

Yeji waved her hand at Chaeryeong, then she gestured for the younger to climb out of the window too. Chaeryeong felt hesitant, and of course, she was scared, but in front of her was Yeji. She's sure that Yeji would always keep her safe, so she opened the window and climbed out carefully.
