#SC2
Cade's POV
I looked at Kalina, who was frowning beside me. He always accused me, but it was not my fault at all, so instead of minding her, I stayed quiet and let her say what she wanted.
"Uhh, it is all your fault! "She said, but I didn't look at her, I just focused on driving.
"How come it's my fault, lady?" I asked calmly, my eyes still focused on the road.
"Because you told mom everything. If you find out something like this, you should have to keep it, let's just say that it's our little secret."
"And tolerate you?" I smirked and glanced at her before shaking my head. "No way, why should I tolerate you with this kind of act? You are older than me, you already know what is right and wrong."
"What? You're just-"
"And also, don't teach me to lie, I'm not like you."
"But I was just hanging out with friends-"
"Without asking permission from our parents, right? Yeah, let's say you are big enough and you can handle yourself, but what if our parents find out that you weren't in your room, you were missing, and you didn't even ask permission from them? Obviously, they will freak out."
"You know what, I won't mind your own business if you ask our parents for permission. I'm not just thinking about mom and dad's whereabouts; I am also thinking about you. In the middle of the night, you went out without mom and dad realizing it-"
"Okay, stop. I admit it, it is my fault!"
"Yeah, I know, even if this fight is taken to any other court, it's really your fault."
She just snorted and didn't talk anymore. Hanggang sa dumating sa bahay ay hindi na siya nagsalita pa. Hindi ko na rin siya kinausap pa.
"Kalina, what did you do," salubong sa amin ni Mommy.
Kalina just pouted and hugged Mom. I went to my dad and sat on the couch.
"Mommy, I'm sorry."
"It's okay, honey, just let us know next time," mommy replied.
"Yes, mom, I'm sorry."
"Tama na yan, anong oras na, let's sleep. Bukad na natin to pag usapan," Because of what Daddy has told us, I stood up and made my way to the staircase to go to my room.
Pagdating ko sa kwarto ay kinuha ko ang phone ko na nasa table.
"The fuck?" I was shocked when I saw five missed calls.
It was Rocky. I dialed his number, and he answered quickly.
"What?" I asked.
"Why did you call?"
" I called you because you dialed me 5 times."
"Yeah, and you didn't even bother to pick up."
"I went out, Kalina did it again," I said with disappointment.
"Oh, really? What did it say?"
"Nothing. We'll know tomorrow," I answered.
"Let me know, alright, and by the way, I called earlier, I just want to ask you to hang out with us, but you didn't pick up, so hindi nalang ako sumama sa kanila. I don't want to go without you."
"I didn't know, I didn't bring my phone with me. Next time nalang."
"Yeah, I think so."
"Alright, I'll hang up na."
After hanging up, I go directly to bed and let the drowsiness consume me. I woke up the next morning because of Kalina's voice.
"What did this woman do this time," I groaned and led myself to the bathroom.
Nang bumaba ako ay nasa hapag kainan na silang lahat. I went to Kalina's side and sat there.
I was just listening to them talk and didn't want to interrupt their conversation. I looked at Kalina when she looked at me with her deadly glare.
"Why are you looking at me like that? It's your fault, lady," I asked her, shrugging.
"What? How come it's my fault? If you didn't tell mom, this would not happen!" She said.
"Wow, why are you always accusing me? Is it my fault that you disobey our parents? I'm just doing the right thing."
"And because of that fucking right thing, this is fucking happening!" She burst out from restraining herself.
"Kalina!" Dad warned.
"I'm sorry."
"Why did you do it? I told you that if you want to go out or hang out with your friends, at least let us know. But what did you do? You went out in the middle of the night without us knowing it," Dad said in his lower voice.
"And please, honey, your brother's just doing the right things. He told us about what you did because he knows that it is wrong and he just wants you to do the right things. Did you get it?" Mom added.
"Say sorry to your brother," biglang sabi ni daddy.
I shot my eyebrows up, slowly looked at Kalina, and smirked.
"Sorry, I'm sorry for everything. I admit it, it's my fault." she said slowly.
I stared at her for a moment, I could see the pain in her eyes, but I just shrugged it off. She somehow deserves that. Para magtanda siya.
"Kasalanan mo naman talaga. No one is claiming your fault." I said.
After a long discussion about what Kalina did last night, we started eating. In the middle of eating, my phone suddenly rang, so I had to excuse myself.
"Why did you call?" It's Damien.
"I sent a case to your email. Ask Tito Zach to review it. I tried to contact Tito Zavier, but he went on vacation."
"Alright, I'll check it later."
"Yeah, thanks, Cous," he said.
"No problem."
"Oh, by the way, you went to the bar last night?"
"No, why?"
"No, nothing. Thanks again."
After he called, I continued what I'm doing and checked the case he sent me. It's a rape case. After checking it, I saved it for later.
I went to my bed and saw the papers on the floor. Tons of paper, to be exact. I don't know what to do about it. I got all of those and put them on my table, may ibang hindi na maayos ang pagkalagay ng mga papel.
I went to Kalina's room and knocked.
"Who's that?"
"Cade,"
"Oh, hi, little brother, just opened the door. What do you need?"
He gave me a big smile, but I didn't mind her, I looked around her room.
"Do you have scotch tape?" I asked.
"Oh," She looked so disappointed. "Just a scotch tape. Anong gagawin mo sa scotch tape?"
"Not your business."
"Okay, then no scotch tape for you, lil bro."
" Why are you acting like you don't know the purpose of the scotch tape?" Nauubos na pasensyang saad ko.
" Oh, whatever." she said, handing me the scotch tape.
"Magbibigay din pala," belong to.
I went back to my room and did what I had to do. After taping all the papers, I bought my laptop and went downstairs.
"Dad, it's a rape case, Damien sent me this earlier. He wants you to review it."
"He used to send a case to Zavier."
"They went on a vacation, Dad. You're the only one free today. I think he needed this as soon as possible."
"Okay, send it to me. I'll review that later. I'll finish this one first." he said, and he looked at my back, which made me look there too.
" Will you go out?" Daddy asked when he saw Kalina approaching.
"I'll go to the lab today."
"Do you want me to drive you?"
"Thanks, dad. I can handle myself."
"Okay then, take care." Kalina went to dad and kissed his cheeks.
"Take care," I told her, and she nodded. She waved her hands before going out of the house.
"Okay, I'll send it to you later, dad, don't forget to check it out."
He nodded, and I nodded also before going back to my room.
I reviewed some of the cases and looked for something when my phone suddenly rang.
I was doubting if I would pick it up because it's an unregistered number, but in the end, I answered the call.
"Hello?"
"Hello, this is from St. Rose Bowl Hospital.
Is this Kalina Delfino's brother? "
"Yeah, why?"
"She's at the St. Rose Bowl Hospital right now. She met an accident earlier-"
" What?" Hindi ko na napigilan na lumakas ang boss ko.
"Yes, sir. We need the family's presence here."
I suddenly hung up and hurried downstairs.
"Mom! Dad!" I called when I saw them on the table talking.
"Don't shout. What's the matter?" Mom asked.
"Kalina's at the hospital!"
"Yeah, we know. She said earlier that she would go to the laboratory."
"No, not that, mom. She had an accident earlier and she was rushed to the hospital. A doctor or either a nurse called me earlier and she told me Kalina's there and she is unconscious. "
"What? Are you making fun, Cade? It's not funny-"
"Mom, do I look like I'm joking?" I said with a frown.
"Stop that, let's go to the hospital." Dad interrupted.
While we were on our way to the hospital, I was praying that nothing much happened to Kalina. It was not a long ride to the hospital. Agaran kaming pumasok sa loob.
"Doc, I am Kalina Delfino's father."
"Sir, she's in room 138, we were preparing her for her surgery. Her head hit the steering wheel and the door so hard that it made her unconscious, and her right leg was twisted due to the loud impact of the truck hitting the car." The doctor explained.
"Oh, God!" Mom claimed.
I looked down and closed my eyes. I felt my hands weakening. I couldn't stand this situation. Not my sister, not my fucking sister!
