choosing ceremony

The next day:

I wake up early and go to the porch and wait for my family to get ready. As we all leave the house we enter the ceremony and find our seats. They call a few kids then Marcus calls Caleb down. He slowly walks up looking at the knife and cutting his hand he drips his blood into a bowl and Marcus says out loud. "Erudite." He says as Caleb walks over to Erudite. "Beatrice Prior." Marcus says as she slowly walks up. I hope she makes the same choice as me, I would do anything to protect her. I watch as she cuts her hand and places it over abnegation and a nervous feeling washes over me. And she quickly changes over to dauntless and I sigh in relief. I knew next was me but I wait to hear it anyway. "Lily Prior." Marcus says as I walk up slowly. I grab the knife and make I small cut in my hand and I wait for my mind to think it through. Brother, sister, or family I think as I drip my blood into dauntless. And everyone cheers as I walk over to dauntless. And as the ceremony ends we run out and climb up the train tracks we see a train coming and I make sure I can see Beatrice in my sight at all times I quickly jump on and watch as Beatrice struggles to get on but she finally made it. "I'm Christina." She says as we both sit down breathing heavily. "Beatrice." "Lily" we both say. "Ready?" I ask them and they both look at me shocked. "Were jumping again." They both freak out as I freely jump onto the rooftop and I wait for them until they finally jump and we all walk up to a guy with blonde hair and an eyebrow piercing. "I'm Erick one of your leaders if you want to be in dauntless this is the way in." Erick says as he starts to talk again. "So who's going to be first?" Erick asks as its silent for a moment then Beatrice says she will jump. So I run up to the edge and stop her. "It's not safe at least I don't know so I'm going first." I tell her "aw the big stiff is over protective over the little stiff." Peter says so I slap him and I get onto the edge and take a deep breath and jump I close my eyes and open them as I land on a net and I take a second to look at the sky and breathe before I enter my new life as dauntless. I feel someone pull the net down and I get up as a tall man with dark brown eyes I could get lost in helps me out and I thank him. "What? You get pushed?" he asks me "no." I say confidently. "What's your name?" he asks me as I stutter. "You can pick a new one if you want, make it good because you can't change it. "Lily." I manage to get out. "First jumper, Lily! Welcome to dauntless." He says to me as we all watch the rest come down one by one until everyone is down. "Most of the time I work in intelligence but now I am your instructor, my name is Four." He says as Christina makes a joke. "What happened 1 through 3 were taken. "What's your name?" Four asks walking up to her. "Christina." She says I can see she's getting scared. "Well Christina your first lesson in dauntless if you wanna stay here is to learn to keep your mouth shut, do you understand?" Four says as she responds with a yes and we all follow four to the next area. "This is where you will be sleeping for the next 10 weeks." Fours says as we keep walking. "Boys or girls?" Al asks. "Both." Four responds. "And if you love this, you'll love the bathroom." He says laughing slightly. "You all should feel right at home." Four says as he leaves us in our new room. "Get changed and meet me in the pit." He says before leaving. Once we all get changed we all head down to the pit and eat. I sit with Al, Will, Tris, and Christina. It just so happens that we sat at the table four is at. "So were you a transfer or dauntless born?" I heard Tris ask Four. "What makes you think you can talk to me?" Four snaps at Tris and now I'm a bit pissed off and once I see Tris is scared that's when I jump in. so I stand up and walk over to four. "Don't talk to my sister like that again, I don't want a smart ass remark either but just so you know you better never talk to her like that again, got it?" I tell four "remember, you chose us now we chose you, if I were you I'd call yourself factionless already." Four says to me. "You know, you don't scare me Four, and now that I'm in dauntless I should fear nothing." I tell four as he leans in closer to me. "Everyone is scared of something." Four tells me as I sit back down next to Tris. After we all eat max comes out and makes a speech about us new comers and everyone claps after wards and the dauntless lift us up and we crowd surf it felt so amazing. Almost as if I felt at home.
