3rd POV
The air had been heavy every since the silence, but it became explosive when Kisame returned. He didn't say a word, but his eyes spoke for themselves. Itachi just hoped that he'd control himself. Yami herself was extremely uncomfortable. She sat a bit away and leaned against the wall, wrapping her arms around her legs. "Is she a new Member now or what?" Kisame couldn't hold it in anymore. "She is a human being that gets cold" Itachi replied and earned an angry look. "Since when do we treat prisoners like that?" Kisame wasn't quite ready to drop it that quick.
"She is no prisoner, she can leave if she wants to" Now both looked surprised at him. "I can leave?" Yami asked in disbelieve and Itachi nodded. "Go on, you do know what I said before. It's up to you to choose the method" He replied and Yami sunk back against the wall.
So she was a hostage, he just doesn't call her like that. "So I can leave and following you'll kill me, or I stay and give out Intel" she mumbled and he nodded once more. "Pffft" She made and Kisame threw his sword angry on the floor, which caused it to crawl sad away. Yami watched that disgusted and didn't even want to ask why the sword was alive. "Unbelivable!" He growled.
A bit later on, Kisame disappeared into the night and left the two alone around the fire again as before.
"So, will you tell me something now?" Itachi broke the silence and Yami stared into the fire, thinking about something she could say. Something that wasn't anything too secretive.
"Well I found your brother in the night of the massacre" She said and didn't move her eyes away from the fire. "He was crying out for you, his brother... He was so traumatized that he didn't talk in weeks" The dance of the flames transported Yami back to the night.
The pain she felt as she searched hopelessly for her friends, in the streets filled with dead bodies. She eventually found them, but they had been slaughtered, laying with their eyes ripped open in the dirt of the road. Hate flamed up in her heart again and she threw him a vengeful look. "You killed many of my friends that night" She spit out, and for a brink of a second his left eye flinched. Too fast for Yami to even notice.
"Do you feel any remorse for what you did?"
Itachi didn't answer her on that, instead he looked her cold in the eye. "Didn't I tell you that I want only answers from you?" He replied and she balled her fists. "You don't even care" She growled and got up. "Go on and kill me, I ain't giving you any more information" She said and straight went for the entrance of the cave.
"You should think well, if you want to go outside" Itachi warned, but she ignored him. Right before she could make a step outside, she saw Kisame's grinning face in the dark. "Come on out little girl" He said and swung his blade onto his right shoulder.
Yami stopped and looked angry over to Itachi. "So you didn't even mean that you'd kill me" She said and he threw her a cold look. "You leave my side, I can't guarantee for your safety"
A moment she thought, and then went back to where she sat before. No one said a word and the silence kept on, all that filled the air was the cracking sound that the fire made.
Yami eventually fell asleep after some time, being still weak from Kabuto's poisonous attack. She wasn't aware of how things actually are, and Itachi didn't feel like clearing it up for her. All he was interested in, where his questions for her.
"How long are you planning on playing the good guy with her?" Kisame asked and Itachi threw a look at the sleeping girl. "As long as I have to" He replied. "We have to return to the base, you know that" Kisame countered and Itachi's eyes went over to him. "Why don't you go and I follow as soon as I got what I need? I'm sure it won' take longer than a couple of days. Besides your presence doesn't make things easier" Kisame didn't reply and only picked up his sword from the ground. "I hope you won't regret your actions against our boss" He said, before going to his part of the cave.
