Chapter 8

Itachi POV

I gave her a choice, she could stay till she is able to walk on her own, or I'd drop her off somewhere near the village. She harshly refused the last part, so I had to stick around her for a few days more at least. That didn't make me much happy in many ways. First of all, I had to return to the base and second... I threw her a look from the side, she isn't great to be around with. Not if you're the centre of her hatred. Now I also had to take care of her and make sure she had everything that a human needed.

I don't like this at all. I thought and sighted, which got me her unwanted attention. "Is something wrong?" She asked and I shook my head. For another second she was looking at me, before she went back to staring into nothing. There wasn't much else to do, we both didn't want to talk with each other.

We moved almost at the same time, and looked outside the cave. I activated my Sharingan and checked the area in front, someone was there. Just one single person... A man. I figure out and got up. Yami was in no condition to fight.

"Take off your headband and hide it, you don't want to be seen with it, in case someone comes inside. Now stay here and don't go outside" I ordered her and pulled my cloak up, stepped outside the cave and stopped a few feet further. "It's never a pleasure to meet you again" The voice of one of the people I once called my friend appeared.

"Hn, Kakashi? What a surprise" I replied and watched him step out of the shades. "Why are you keeping the Kunoichi hostage? I am here to retrieve her Itachi" He said and took a fighting position. "I am not holding her against her will, she is injured and can't move. Go ahead and bring her home" I stepped aside and pointed at the cave. "I told her to hide, but she will come out knowing it's someone she can trust" I added and Kakashi looked irritated at me.

"What?" He simply brought out and I turned around. "Then I tell her myself" I said and walked back to the cave, leaving him standing where he was.

Must be extremely confusing for him to hear that. I thought and entered the cave. "Your friend the copy ninja is here" I told Yami and she looked up.

"Kakashi?" her voice was as disbelieving as his.

"Yes, he seems to have trouble with finding the entrance, may I bring you to him? So you get home and I can leave too" I said and offered her my hand. A moment she just stared at it, probably processing everything. Then she accepted my help and I lifted her up, carrying her outside.

Kakashi was standing right outside and came rushing, once her saw her in my arms. "Yami! What happened?!" He called out concerned and forgot about me. I let her down and gave her over to him, turning around and walking back.

"Itachi!" Yami shouted after me and I looked back.

"Thank you"

"Hn" I gave back and entered the cave.

I heard them talk outside some more, till they finally left. Before Kakashi could think of returning, I got my stuff and left as well. I leave it to Yami to explain why she was with me.

I was walking on my path, till I sighted and stopped.

"When did you become so fast?" I asked and looked at Kakashi, who just caught up to me.

"When did you become so slow?" He returned and we stared at each other.

"How come she was with you?" He asked after a while.

"She didn't tell you?" I replied.

"No"

"Then why should I?" I said and turned away from him.
