A new beginning: Part 1

Shuri's pov

It's been 2 months since I moved into the tower with Wanda. I started going to school and it was not what I expected. Peter warned me that it was nothing like the movies, and at first, I didn't believe him, but my first day proved me wrong. I thought that everyone would be split into different social groups, but it seemed like the school was full of Jacks of all trades. The worst part about the first few weeks was all the people fawning over me. It was flattering at first but got tiring quickly.

Back in the present day, I was in the lab with Wanda and Pete when Sam walked into the room.

"Guys," He said a little loud, grabbing all of our attention away from what we were working on.

We turned away from the table and looked at him.

"Fury is looking for you in the conference room." He announced it to us.

Pete, Wanda and I all looked at each other with the same confused look but joined Sam at the door. He led us out of the room, and we walked in silence for a few minutes.

"Why does Fury want to see us, isn't the conference room for avengers?" Peter asked breaking the silence.

"Don't know, but I guess we'll find out soon," Sam said and held the door open for us and stepped in after.

"Finally, you're here," Furry said loudly as we walked in.

"Please take a seat," he said pointing to the table.

Wanda sat first, then I sat to her left and Peter sat to my left.

"You three are probably wondering why you're here," he spoke to us loudly as usual.
We didn't respond but just nodded in unison for a few seconds.

"Here's the situation. We've discovered a possible auction house where an illegal chitauri weapons deal is going to occur," The director started

"We want you to observe its actions and potentially put it out of commission," Fury added

"Isn't that an Avengers job?" I asked.

"It is," Sam replied.

"But, you guys are capable in your own right. We've seen what you can do individually, but we wanna know if you guys can work together," Pepper said to us directly.

"Like as a team?" Peter asked, also sitting up slightly.

"Yes as a team," Furry responded.

"For your assignment, the four of you will-"

"Sorry to interrupt but the four of us?" Peter asked, cutting off Fury, and addressing all of our confusion.

"Yes, I forgot to mention. Two months ago, our sister organization S.W.O.R.D. acquired a powerful asset in a secret hydra prison facility. He'll be joining you on your mission," Furry said completely calmly.

The whole room was filled with a silence of both shock and confusion.

"I thought I had told you guys about this," Fury said in the direction of the other avengers

"Yeah, but you forgot to mention that he's Hydra," Pepper let out.

"He's not Hydra, he was a Hydra prisoner," Fury replied

"I don't think there's a difference," Rhodey said in a questioning tone.

"There is,"
"There isn't,"

Both Wanda and Bucky respectively said at the same time.

"Believe me, even if you're a captive, at one point they turn you into a soldier," Bucky said
