There he was, on the battlefield. Thanos' army was crumbling, along with Tony stark. Peter Parker tried his best to limp over to his mentor's degrading body. He tightly gripped the armored hand as a single tear trickled down his bloodied cheek. All he could hear was a heartbeat, gradually decreasing until...

Peter Parker darted up from his bed, breathing heavily. His face and t-shirt were drenched in sweat along with his pillow. Peter took a deep break, dropping his face into his hands as his breathing gradually returned to normal.

After a heavy sigh, Peter got out of his best and snuck to the bathroom quietly as to not wake up aunt May. He turned on the faucet and let it run for a few moments, watching the water flow down the drain before he splashed his face with a few handfuls of water. When he was done, he glanced up at the mirror, staring at the face looking back at him. He could barely recognize it. The last year had been rough.

Peter quickly dried his face and snuck back into his room, changing his sheets before he crawled back into bed.

"Edith," Peter whispered as he slid his glasses on his face.

"Yes Peter, how may I assist you?" The feminine AI voice responded in his ear.

"What time is it?" Peter asked, barely able to keep his heavy eyelids open.

"It is 2:33 am,"

"This is not a good start to my weekend," Peter mumbled, running his hands through his hair. He considered calling Mj to pass the time, but he didn't want to bother her, and he was one blink away from passing out.

"Play white noise please," Peter requested, pulling his blanket over his head and falling into a deep sleep.

Peter's sleep was interrupted by a soft voice. He couldn't yet tell exactly who it was or what they were saying, but he was suddenly shocked awake by a vibration in the back of his neck before someone hit him in the arm,"

"I'm up, I'm up," Peter groggily said, taking off his glasses and rubbing his eyes,

"Pete, wake up, Pepper Potts called," May Parker said, quickly catching her nephew's attention.

"What happened, what did she say,"

"Not much, just that she needed you at the compound. She was actually pretty vague,"

As soon as Peter heard the words 'compound', he flew out of his bed. He hadn't been to the compound in a while since the world was relatively peaceful and even if something did come up, Captain America usually dealt with it.

Peter rushed to the bathroom, quickly showering and brushing his teeth before putting on his suit and packing a bag with a change of clothes.

"Bye May, love you!" Peter yelled, picking up an apple for the road and stealthily crawling out of his bedroom window.

As he began his journey, he realized just how much he missed the sensation of swinging or gliding in the air. It was a different kind of relaxing. Even though he still did patrol after school, he was always on edge. Ever since Mysterio, it seemed that the bad guys were only getting stronger and New York might need more than just Spider-Man. After a while of subconscious swinging, his thought process was cut by Edith telling him he was getting close to the compound. He landed on a building a few miles away from the compound and took a quick breather. It had been a while since he was last here. Made sense, the Avengers as a team were hanging by a thread and Nick Fury had left him alone after Sam Wilson took the mantle of Captain America.

Peter took a final bite of the apple he had been eating before continued the last few miles of his journey, using his web wings as much as possible due to the lack of building around the compound.
