Chapter 19

Shreya wakes up, with bags under her eyes. She immediately blames her Boss and sighs knowing it's not going to be easy for her. She looks around her room and feels empty waking up without him on her side. Quickly taking a shower, she heads down looking all professional. After having her breakfast, she quickly bids her parents bye and goes to her office.

She shortly reaches her cabin and smiles in satisfaction when she realizes she has completed most of the work and spending hours working on those files last night was worth it. Aarav walks into his building, with no expression on his face. He glances at Shreya's cabin to see her going through the files. Knocking at her door, she yells out a 'come in' and her face instantly lights up on seeing Aarav, but she hides her smiles, biting the inward of her cheeks.

"Goodmorning, sir. I have already completed-"

"I'm sorry" He cuts her off with his apology.

"huh?" she blurts out her confused thoughts

"How did you reach home last night?"

"Oh, I walked" she shrugs casually as if last night didn't scare the shit out of her.

"I'm sorry" He apologizes, his features softening looking at her.

"Don't be sorry, sir. It was my fault, I should have booked a cab earlier instead of sleeping on the table" She says in one breath.

He sighs and nods his head, shoving his hands in his pockets and leaves her cabin without any other words.

The week goes slowly and painfully. The fact that he doesn't remember anything about her makes her want to cry, but she stayed strong with a mindset of him getting his memories back someday. She wished the someday would come sooner.

After working for 5 hours straight, she rubs her eyes and looks around, her eyes fall on a Pendrive. Her face instantly lights up as she runs to take the Pendrive. Quickly grabbing the Pendrive she walks to Aarav's cabin. Turning the doorknob open, she opens his door without knocking.

"Look what I found- Aaahhh" her smile fades as her legs come in contact with a wet floor. She shuts her eyes, ready to land her ass on the floor, but was soon rescued by a pair of hands on her waist. She opens her eyes to find Aarav intensely staring at her. Butterflies erupts in her tummy, and they both feel the electric shock of each others touch.

"This is why you should knock before entering" His voice comes out dry, and he helps her stand up while trying to shake the thought of not so clear memory of doing something familiar.

"T..thank you" She clears her throat and looks away, a smile playing on her lips. She remembers the first time he has helped her from tripping on the terrace.

"What did you find?" he asks, trying to break the tension.

"Ah, the Pendrive" she exclaims and looks at her hands, only to realize, the pen drive has flown elsewhere.

"Oh no" she mumbles and looks around for the pen drive.

"Wait... Sir" she adds before kneeling and looking under the table.

"It's okay. I'll find it. Move over" he says looking away. She doesn't listen to him as she continues her hunt for searching the Pendrive.

"Hey," He says, as he gently pulls her by her waist, close to him. She was taken aback by his sudden movements. He quickly moves away, maintaining a healthy distance between them.

"Never bend in front of guys when wearing skirts," He says, feeling the warmth of the blush as it crawled up his neck. Her heart melts at how gentlemanly he acts.

"I- Ah, I'm sorry sir" she apologizes, embarrassed.

"It's okay" he mumbles as he bends and looks for the Pendrive. He smiles when he notices his green-colored pendrive, and he reaches for it. Quickly grabbing it off the floor, he dusts off the invisible particles off his suit.

"Thank you," he says genuinely and goes to his computer. She shortly exits his cabin,  with a smile still playing on her lips.

"Enna promotion ah?" pavithra smirks, walking to her.

"Bedroom la" she adds. Shreya glares at her friend, making Pavithra laugh.

"I'm sorry. But nee Colgate paste ku Eeee nu sirichittu varra maathri vanthiya athan" Pavithra apologizes, holding back a laugh but fails miserably when a snort escapes her lips, making Shreya laugh along with her.

Atharva dials Shreya's number to check on her. After a ring or two, she picks up.

"Hello?" she asks, pressing the phone to her ear while taking her belongings. She quickly looks at her wristwatch and notices it's already 10 pm

"Hey. It's me Atharva" He speaks, a smile planted on his face, hearing her voice after weeks.

"Hey you! I thought you died or something" she smiles and exits her office.

"Wait a sec" she adds and opens Uber.

"What are you doing?" he asks

"hmm.... Oh, I'm booking a ride" she replies.

"No need. I'll pick you up" He says, getting up from his bed, and grabbing his keys.

"No no-"

"I'm coming" he informs and hangs up, without even waiting for her answer. She sighs and looks around, noticing Aarav's car.

Aarav steps out of his building, his body coming in contact with the chill breeze. He breathes out and looks around noticing Shreya standing on the pavement all alone. He slowly walks to her and notices her using the phone.

"Hey" Shreya jerks at the manly voice and jumps a little, when she notices Aarav standing behind her.

"Sorry" he sends her an apologetic smile, while she shuts her eyes, trying to calm herself.

"No, no I'm sorry sir. I shouldn't have fre-"

"Call me Aarav, we are outside work"

"Okay" she mutters and looks away.

"I'll drop you," He tells her, and she shakes her head saying no.

"Atharva is coming" she whispers.

"Oh" his eyes darken at the mention of his name.

"Call and tell him, I'll drop you" he speaks, as the thought of her spending time with Atharva kills him inside for some unknown reason.

"It's okay si- Aarav-" He looks at her with an unreadable expression and she quickly nods her head at him, telling him she will come.

"Let me call Atharva," she informs and takes out her phone, and calls Atharva.

"Hey, I'm so sorry. Aarav is dropping me off-"

"Aarav?" Atharva asks, surprised.

"Yes. He is leaving too and he insisted-"

"Oh. Okay. Have a good night" he says and quickly hangs up. She looks at her phone in confusion.

"What did I do now?" she mumbles and Aarav looks at her, secretly smiling.

'I don't know what I'm doing, but this feels so right' his mind says.
