Aarav watches her leave and he inhales sharply, folds of guilt taking over his body. Mani watches her brother silently and shuts her eyes, not wanting to talk to him.

"Mani" Aarav slowly calls out

"Get out. I'm trying to sleep" She replies, without looking at him once.

Pavithra stares at the files, her mind wandering off to pugazh, as she absent-mindedly takes the file and stares elsewhere. Shreya notices her and enters her cabin

"Pavi" Shreya shakes her friend's shoulder and pavi stays zoned out and her eyes never leave the wall in front of her.

"Pavithra" Shreya whisper yells and gets weird stares from her coworkers. Pavithra's eyes snap to Shreya.

"What happened? Did I do something wrong?" Pavithra frowns at the screen in front of her, trying to find where she went wrong.

"You're not okay. What happened to you? Can we talk alone?" Shreya asks, growing concerned for her friend's unlikely behavior.

"I'm good. I just zoned out" Pavithra replies nodding her head.

"No. Your eyes are red. Looks like you've not been sleeping lately" Shreya crosses her arms against her chest and glares at her friend for lying.

"Can we talk alone, please?" pavithra licks her lips, anxiously and looks around, not wanting to break down in front of her coworkers. Shreya nods and waits for her friend to stand up. They slowly walk to the washroom and Shreya patiently waits for her friend to tell her what's bothering her.

"I'm engaged" Pavithra blurts out. Shreya smiles at her friend and walks towards her

"Congrats Pavi. You can talk to Aarav and ask him for-"

"No"

"What's the matter?"

"I don't like him. I love someone else" Pavithra throws up her hands in frustration.

"Who?"

"Pugazh" Pavithra replies and lets out a shaky breath.

"Why didn't you tell your parents?" Shreya grows worried, as she stands beside her friend.

"I didn't even tell pugazh" Pavithra lets out a sarcastic laugh and her eyes brims with tears.

"Like you never confessed?" Shreya asks confused and she nods.

"What are you waiting for? Go tell him first" Shreya takes her friend's hands in hers and looks her in the eye.

"It's not that easy, Shreya. I don't know if he feels the same way"

"You would never know if you don't tell him now"

"I'm scared. What if he doesn't reciprocate the feelings?"

"don't start with ifs and buts. They never end in a good way" Shreya convinces her friend. Pavithra nods her head in response and engulfs Shreya in a hug.

"Thank you so much" Pavithra genuinely thanks her and exits the washroom. Shreya watches her leave and stares at the mirror in front of her. She looks at her reflection and sighs noticing the bags under her eyes. Two months ago, when she used to look at her reflection in the mirror, Aarav would join her too. Now it's just her and it's always going to be just her. She inhales sharply and exits the washroom, nearly bumping into someone. The familiar cologne hits her nostrils and she walks away before he could say anything. Aarav watches her leave and curses himself under his breath, when he didn't apologize.
